Anyway, the game is shit but is there any prospect of Obsidian getting to make a new game using the same engine? Really hope New Vegas wasn't a one time thing. But Bethesda are probably still salty about NV being considered better than Fallout 3, so probably not.

NV is not generally considered better than Fallout 3 (and rightfully so). The bigger issue would be that Bethesda is really fucking sensitive and Sawyer stepped on their toes a couple of times.

Can you tell us more about this?

we still talking about this garbage?

I don't know about we, but I've found a strange urge to replay it. In my own way, of course. So far my character has no idea who Preston Garvey or his annoying friends in the Minute Men are, and I plan to keep it that way.

On the internet, writing shit posts.
Makes sense. Fallout 4 is pretty good if you ignore 80% of the characters and quests.
The main quest and factions are indeed wretched. If you just play it as a murder hobo simulator like Skyrim it's fine.
If you try to play it like a Fallout game (or pre-Skyrim beth game...or a norml RPG for that matter) you're going to run into stupid.

Bethesda's always been kind of that. I played Daggerfall with my brother as a small kid, and even then it was clear that it was better to just screw around and act like your character, and not to worry about what the king had told you.

True Fallout fans only acknowledge NV from the 3D area. The other 2 are turds through and through.

"Combat doesn't need to be exciting and exploration doesn't need to be engaging when you have an abundance of dialogue skill checks." NV fans got what they fucking deserved when The Outer Worlds came out.

A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Kingmaker Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
It's very appropriate that Daedalos is the OP of this thread.
Because Todd Howard is the modern Icarus, always reaching for the sun?
But he never even leaves the ground...
Yeah, but once he figures that out, sky's the limit.
More like the ceiling of his mom's basement.
It's all relative, for him it's what stratosphere is for people of average height.

My dream mod for any FO game would let you play as a Raider, looting, killing, raping and doing drugs from start to finish. I think it's time for a Fallout game that lets you choose your own role. It's an RPG after all, isn't it?

It's funny that you brought this up.

Almost Alive was shaping up to be that sort of game. Its take on post-ap was sufficiently edgy in spirit. Even had some unfinished sex anims. Shame it never got made.
