How would it look then? I always imagined the gas masks and shit similar to what is on that pic.
It's its shape. It doesn't evoke the "Fallout" feel. It looks so horribly modern and mundane that one initially doesn't notice that the helmet seems to be from Combat Armour.

Maybe because it looks like something stolen out of Jin Roh.

Call me when it will feature turn-based, squad-based combat ripped-off from JA2. And map similar to the one in Darklands. And it won't have silly casinos and tourists visiting Vegas. And more than 9000 skills and perks, every single one having lots of uses. And it will be PC-only. And... Hmm... I can't find the picture of Codexers whining in a play-pen made by Avellone. Would fit.

I find that difficult for the slavers.

It could be interpreted as being somewhat subjective. The money for doing the Slaver quests in FO2 was always nice (read: good), albeit not exactly necessary in the overall longterm of the game.

I don't get what's so bad about that scan with the soldier. It's just a guy in an armoured gasmask, it's nowhere near as overdone as the cyborg elephants of Killzone.

Codexgasm?

Sounds a lot like Geneforge 2, which is good.

What would JA-like squad based combat have to do with Fallout? Would be just about as anathema as FPS-realtime-with-vats. Unless you're looking for a FO:T sequel.

Yeah, some of the "hardcore" Fallout fans don't even know what they really want. And it seems like even FO1/2 aren't good enough for them.

Fallout has always been about a single person exploring the wastes (and the exploration aspect of FO3 was done very well). Squad based combat would be absolutely retarded in Fallout. That's why Tactics sucked big time, BTW.

What Jim meant is that he will only have a codexgasm when a game with all these qualities is developed.

Exactly, there's nothing like codexgasm, there's always a lot of bitching especially when it comes to new titles.

Perhaps, but the real issue is that the actual wasteland wasn't done very well. Boring setting = boring exploration.

An illogical wasteland theme park full of extremely retarded stuff like Megaton and children town on top of orc dungeons = very well?

Tactics was worse because it was primitive and linear not because it was featuring squad combat. This argument is ridiculous.
If FO3 was JA2 meets post-nuclear wasteland Codex would fap to it around the clock. But it would be too much incline for next-genites.

Since when was Fallout supposed to be SRS BZNS? It's a very corny and cheesy setting based on what people believed and dreamed about during the Atomic Age, so, of course, it's full of gags and improbable situations, duh. And actually Megaton is very appropriate, as it parodies the said Atomic Age where people almost worshiped nuclear technology.

You're clinging onto straws, as usual. Think before you post.
