I hope that Troika person wasn't scared off by the...unique conversational skills of some people here. Anywho, I understand the game will be hub based. So, basically, will it be structured similarly to Deus Ex? Will the game similarly offer multiple paths to goals or will it simply offer one path but allow players to use varied skills through that path? I havent seen as much mention as i would like about level size. How open will these levels be? Also, gameplay wise, will it avoid the type of corridor encounter scripting you get in poorly designed shooters like Doom3?

*Also, Ex, Troika and Bio each have a different idea of what a roleplaying game is. I dunno about everyone else, but I give Troika more slack because I like their vision a heck of alot more. Feel free to be as onery as you like to the Troika boys just dont expect everyone to respond to your call to arms.

Scared him off? Anyone consider he may actually have a job (or a life at that) and not replying to a thread immediatly means exactly... nothing. That said, I guess I can see how one can be put off from posting here if one was of the more sensitive nature...

it's scary to see how willing some of you to readily get down on your knees to suck this guy's dick

Nice. Weren't you the psycho who just a month ago was mewling on and on about how devs won't take the site seriously unless things change? So people treat a Dev with respect and now they are fellating him. You're more random than a woman with mood swings.

PS - What's your fixation with cock sucking anyways? Bad uncle experience?

More Post of the Month material. Somebody stop fnord!

Not the criticism, smarty. The blatant and descriptive 'cock sucking' metaphors for starters.

Still not following me, I meant the very usage of such middle-school-gym-locker-room metaphors may be off-putting, regardless of whom they're directed at.

If he can't handle the 'Codex perhaps he shouldn't post here? Hmm?

That said, I doubt he was 'scared off'. R00fles! You know, just ebcause someone doesn't post within 24 hours of their alst post doesn't mean they are gone forever.

R00fles!

nah, if you guys want reply post something for him to comment about. so far no one asked him anything specific about the game.

personally i don't want to know more. I've already decided I'll buy the game, and i prefer to find out the game first hand myself. anymore info may just spoil the surprises...

wait. I'll take that back. i'm curious how long BL has been under testing. are we gonna get a relatively stable game that can be completed without patching?

It god damn rules. Looks like my cynicism paid off after all, and I'm a happier person because of it. It's always great to have something defy low expectations and come out with surpassing brilliance.

Hmm, alright, I just finished playing the tutorial.

The graphics aren't what I expected at all, they're largely disappointing, primarily the textures. World textures are miserably low quality, an excellent example being the "Die My Darling" poster which looks like something out of Duke Nukem 3D. However, the character models all look great.

Besides that, physics don't seem to be much used, at any rate, not at the level of say, HL2, which seemed to be a logical assumption, as both games run on the same engine. The game world also seems to be pretty unevenly interactive, for example, some light switches are operable while many others are just 'painted' on the wall.

The combat is okay, if a little imprecise, though I've only tried melee and it might be just because I'm getting used to it. These are all just first impressions, so we'll see how I feel in a day or two.

At any rate, I'm sure Exitium will be here soon to tell me how wrong I am about everything though.

I hate you Ortchel. I want you die a thousand deaths. I just called EB games up and they said that I could pick the game up tomorrow (I've pre-ordered it). I want it TODAY just like you. How did you get it already?

Eh, I wouldn't feel too bad. Just play Deus Ex 2, it plays the same way.

I haven't found a store with any stock near me in Chicago, either. Everyone is saying tomorrow. But whatever - that just gives me more time with HL2.

Ortchel, Deus Ex 2 is utter fucking garbage. Vampire kicks Deus Ex and its sequel in the face, and stomps on their putrefied bellies until their entrails come pouring out of their mouths. And then it bathes in them and laughs.
