It's not a remake, it's a game for people who have already played FF7. Getting a vision of aeris' death means nothing because it most likely won't happen this time.

Or listening to Barrett be the typical "anime black guy" character. As soon as voices are introduced, it's just over. Am I gonna have to actually listen to Cloud being anime-dramatic? Ugh...

Amusingly enough it seems like Japanese VA is way easier on grunting and panting compared to English VA. Turn on subtitles for maximum impact.

Yes but you still gotta compare both entries. There's no such thing as 'standing on its own' when the original project is still alive in people's heads. They'll make the comparison and so would anyone who wants to criticize it. And while changes aren't necessarily bad, there are different levels and kinds of change. And they rub people in different ways.

There are stylistic changes, like the Honeybee Inn scenes where Midgar's most fabulous turn Cloud into an anime girl. Its the same story, but with more glitter. Literally. Those were fun, tbh.

There are expanded universe changes, where the Avalanche team, especially Best Girl Jesse, are given more screentime and characterization. Again, still the same story. You just get more of it. And fans lap it up.

And there are minor outright story changes, like, from what I understand, the Avalanche team surviving their untimely deaths. At this point you can start arguing about wins and losses for he story. I'd say that if people felt attached to the Avalanche characters in the original and wanted them to live, its a testament to the old game managing to make engaging drama out of very little. All you get in its place is fap material. But again, fans lap this shit up.

None of which is on the level of the game's overall plot. Which brings us to the dementors. Magic spirits wandering around and keeping people from breaking up with fate is just silly. Its Nomura literally telling the audience he doesn't want to do a FF7, rather delve into edginess all of his own. Decades of Disney crap have driven this poor man mad. He never liked happy go lucky Mickey shit. Again, change is not bad on its own. But if the original FF7 was Sakaguchi coping with his mom's death and creating this environmentalist tale about how we are all souls of the Planet on the stream of life, what do we have to look forward to FF7Remake's new identity? A re-do of a bad anime plot about challenging fate I guess. Something that was done THREE TIMES IN FFXIII AND THEN IN FFXV AGAIN. BY NOMURA.

The fact is that Tifas design has been changed to please those who think that her design was problematic because it was to "sexy". However those who do not mind things that are feminine cried out that things have changed to please the people not valuing whatever they think is worthwhile while those who fought to change her design are still not happy, as can be easily seen in this thread even, in the quoted chat messages.

Hence i asked what the actual problematic designs are for those who are still not happy, it seems impossible to find an accurate description of the things that are problematic, unless the sole fact that someone could find her hot is the problem itself.
But naturally there is nothing males wouldn't possibly find hot (including objects) and i do think her design is definitely attractively designed myself. I also do not mean that derogatory regarding male sexual behavior, just to make this clear: my stance is quite the opposite of that.

I also did not want to steer the direction of this thread in this direction, while I am quite happy to discuss this gernally, there are already a lot of places to do this. My apologies if this now derailed the discussion however i could not let the comment of Dawkinsfan69 stand uncommented when the games has in fact been "de-sexualized" (read: changed in a way that is supposedly gives less offence in certain circles) that we debate this now is quite the indication that the whole "sexualisation" debate and the steps to counter this "sexualisation" are outright nonsense.
