Uhm, i did not start the debate about how pornographic FF7 is. I am also not sure who "you guys" are, not that I am not used that people tend to find the easiest to reach shoe-box to put people into. Not sure how this makes me the boring one though.

Careful throwing around statements like that. You and me know that it is completely natural, but they will take statements like that as proof that men are inherently "toxic" and need to be fixed. They live with an ideological analog of "original sin", sometimes it manifests as "white guilt" or some other nonsense, but in the specific case of men it is "toxicity", that men are inherently baser than women.

While you are right about that, I would also say that being "careful" is a fools errand just like with this topic it actually does not matter what you say, someone in their arbitrary group think will find offense.

So i would think that being careful when i merely *try* to state the truth would mean submitting to the rules of an arbitrary group. I'm not planning on that in the near future.

This is game is literally the sequel to Advent Children all right. All flash and no substance.

All these scenes that pay homage to the original story but please the crowd with incredible bullshit that wasn't in it. (Hojo spelling out that Cloud isn't soldier, showing Nibelheim before Tifa is introduced, Tifa, Jessie and Aerith fangirling and thirsting for Cloud like a bunch of fangirls, Sephiroth and Cloud doing anime-style fights...).

I just watched it. What a wierd sequence. You can clearly see that there was effort put into it, thats not the problem.

What i would however point out that the atmosphere of the situation has been quite drastically changed. The Honey bee Inn alluded to prostution (even if it's played for fun in all instances) in the original which makes the shitty life under the city-plate in the slums more believable. If they were partying all day long there this message doesn't really get across.

Not a hill worth dying on but will consider it another sign of decline if an alt path you were unlikely to see on your first playthrough (the cloud outcome required you among other things to give the right qualities you wanted in a dress to the dressmaker and picking a certain item out of several at a vending machine when staying the night at an inn, you needed a strategy guide to get all this right) became mandatory in the remake. Basically an easter egg that became infamous is now the only way forward because it’s what people remember so gotta give the plebs what they want, almost as cheap and pandering as fighting sephiroth to the beat of one winged angel before you even leave midgar.

And yeah likewise, I remember the honeybee inn to be seedier underneath the glitzy exterior. Now it’s the moulin rouge.

I wonder how square would feel about just abandoning their stupid story writing/garbage combat/world building and just going all in on making anime porn games, because that's honestly where their true talent lies

I could swear that the "ethics" department managed to convince the developers to change character designs because they are too "sexualised". People that argue that the characters are to sexy now are absolutely impossible to please, what exactly IS wanted? like a list of clear do's and don'ts please.

I guess the best solution would be to stop including women in games apart from porn-games so we don't have to hear this again.

Man, imagine if you could CRAFT your own dress and brew your own perfume by gathering tons of random ingredients. That would be so fucking COOL. If there's one thing I love in my RPGs it's crafting. I think crafting should be in everything you do. Craft weapons, armor, perfume, dresses, C O S M E T I C S, hell why not Materia?

Craft a tuxedo when Cloud gets married to one of his harem cuties. Maybe do side quests for the best bow tie. This is the FF7 I want to play.

Cloud, Tifa and Aeris would have been raped by don Corneo's men if they were regular girls, but they just beat up the thugs. Probably why the scenes were left in.

(Tifa and Aeris later threaten to castrate Corneo if he doesn't speak up, but they are relatively subtle about it so that also stayed in). Oh and there's that weird roleplay going on inside one of the rooms if you peek through the keyhole.

The big buff guys are the friendliest NPCs in the city and just suggesting they would rape anyone is a crime.
