The development of Call of Saregnar, Rhuantavan's super cool Betrayal at Krondor-inspired RPG, reached an important milestone today with the release of its first backer demo. Our users report that the game doesn't have much content but is already very polished and fun. There's no fancy trailer or announcement blurb for this release, so here are a few screenshots from the game's press kit instead.

Head over to Call of Saregnar's official website and donate via PayPal or Patreon if you'd like to join in.

I've pushed you in that direction before and I'm going to do it again - instead of "support development" state it "preorder now and get beta access" and instead of putting it on the bottom of http://www.callofsaregnar.com/ put it on the top of the page.

More tips:
1. discounts - use them. Sparingly, but do it nonetheless. Yes, your game is still in development, but on special occasions when everyone is offering discounts, do the same - support Call of Saregnar for $20 or $25 today only and you'll get access to the full game as well
2. free demos/beta access to websites - having news like this one is great, but having more thorough previews is even better. Send demo copies to game journos that cover similar games - rpgcodex, rpgwatch and similar. Heck, even bigger ones like rockpapershotgun and pcgamer. EDIT: YouTube channels as well, not sure which one though, check ones that cover indie and retro games
3. sell assets - not sure what engine you're using, but if your assets can be imported to Unity and such, create a couple of different packages (full, characters, objects) and try to sell them on the appropriate marketplace (namedrop retro, RPG, Daggerfall and BOK)

Hope you manage to push it to the end. :salute:

Now I want to pull out my Krondor series and play it. I remember when I got a discount buy on my Amiga500. And one of the disks failed. But, I had the box! Huzzah!

Exactly. It should say pre-order the game for $30, not donate $30 and hey, you'll receive the game down the line.

Betrayal at Krondor was the first game I played (at the end of the 90's) that showed me how quality writing can completely change the face of a a game.
I wish the devs endurance to finish this project.

Do you get access to the demo if you drop $30 on the website as well or is it only for people who subscribe on Patreon?

I followed this on Facebook around the time it was announced and I'll be honest, I thought it would fizzle out and be dead after a few months but seeing all the awesome updates over the last year or two on my feed has been fantastic and I'm pretty excited now.

Hope all goes well and I'll be buying it day one in whatever form whether that's complete, beta/early access or whatever.
