Now I'm on my third playthrough. And I don't replay games. Especially not right after I finish with a playthrough. God this game is heaven.

I'm trying out Tears to Tiara but so far it has nothing to Rance.

The only other Rance game I ever played was "Kichikuou Rance", the so called "IF" title...

It was a long time ago. Didn't play it for long (no english-patch) but one thing I can tell you for sure - it was very, very similar to Sengoku...

Rance VI is continuation of the original Rance RPG series, so the gameplay doesn't resemble Sengoku. Then again Rance himself is the same, the music are there and the visuals aren't that bad either.

Only has Rance 4 and onwards, but from what I have heard the earlier ones were much lower quality anyway (no plot/bad gameplay/mediocre CG by current standards). And windows 3.x... Yuck.

I've heard something about the earlier ones possibly being released as freeware, which would explain why I can't find them.

Don't get your hopes too up. "Normal" Alice Soft games are quite different from Rance, as far as storylines and characters go.

As far as I can tell the only gameplay shots are 0:33-0:38. Looks to be like some kind of Sengoku Rance-style strategic level with RTS battles, assuming that is the gameplay and not just a random cinematic.

Wow, some interesting titles there. I'm downloading Kichikuou Rance now. Pity it doesn't have a translation Gotta... learn... Japanese...

Daiteikoku and Big Bang Age look interesting as well. Care to share your first impressions once you played a little bit of the latter Whiskey? I sincerely hope you won't go hiatus on this LP.

One more thing. I can't help but notice that Alice Soft's archive of games available for free is quite large. You don't hear anything about large companies like blizzard making their old games freeware, often.

And so Takeru finds himself on a mission to retrieve the goddess' enchanted jewels and rescue the kingdom's female warriors from the Dragon Knights... but more than anything, Takeru just wants to get his hands (and camera lens) on the pretty ladies!

Big Bang Age is very enjoyable, even though it features no tasteful rape only consensual sex with basically every woman the hero meets. gameplay wise it's very much like rance, with events and battles and the works. i'd rate SR ~10% higher because of the better battle skill-system, but BBA is very much worth playing. i hope the team (or the person?) who translate BBA will do Daiakuji (the prequel) next, its story looks awesome on paper (link)

you're right, i skipped over it, saw the trailer a few months ago and forgot about that =) a shame though, as TB is superior

sounds like a anime version of Knights of Xentar.

also doesnt seem to exist in any downloadable form, not within my channels anyway, not that i can claim my find anime channels go deeper then google...
