I don't know on Ieyasu himself, that is, if you can get him and that's what you mean. Some of his unique commanders are good though. Namely Honda, with a bit of buffing now and again, can cut people down pretty well.

I will try to push it out today.

After finishing "The Lost Fleet" I started to read "Honor Harrington" series and this is why every update is delayed.

I think theres a furry that speaks in nothing but ellipses. If you get him to trusted, theres an event that will allow you to recruit Tokugawa instead of facing him in a general fight, or so I heard.

Oh wow, an event which I totally don’t give a fuck about.

“Please” from a beautiful woman, how can Rance say ‘no’?

alcg2661.jpg

Of course he can also use the situation to his adwantage.

Thus Ran is no more.

(I sold all her troops before entering this place, I’m a calculative bastard aren’t I)

So other stuff we found. The Dungeon will have to be beat one more time to be “cleared”.

There are ways she can be saved.

Killing the Monkey will keep her from blowing up, since the Demon Army will never come about, keeping Gigai from exploding Ran or Madou from exploding Chinu.

Damn, you got everything. Nice.

Is it worth getting Tokugawa? As a general, i mean.

He's pretty damn badass in captain battles. He has a unique skill that hits for extra damage, hits 2 enemies in a line, and still only costs 1 action.

Ok, I don't wanna search through the whole damn thread...

So, how do you deal with the damn panda that crazy monk unleashes on you when you attack Texas ? Do the hordes of rabid pandas end eventually, or do you loose the battle no matter what ?

Actually, killing the monkey doesn't do shit in this situation - if you recruit her you will ultimately automatically get the event where she asks you to go save Souun, and she will still explode if you do. You can of course ignore that dungeon, but after a few turns she will go there on her own and die anyway, only in this case without Souun being saved.

Nah, the only way to save her is to enter her route by going to that dungeon before breaking the fifth gourd. She kinda sucks though, especially compared to Souun, so her dying in almost all cases is probably a good thing.

So, how do you deal with the damn panda that crazy monk unleashes on you when you attack Texas ?

Send no troops to defend against his attack. Apparently he has to win for story reasons, so he will keep sending those pandas until he does. Luckily this happens only once, so...

AFAIK you loose the battle no matter how long can you fight against that dude. After attack on Texas, when you end your turn you should see event involving him and Yukihime. He will stop bothering you from now on.

Rance Hotline ? Need advice. :smug:

- It's my first playthrough , just beat Xavier at turn 49.
- When does this demon army appears ?
- The Mouri have conquered the Akashi and the Takeda have taken the Houjou
- So now the only ones without a gourd are the Yukai, but do I have any chances of victory with them ?
- What should my next move be ?

If it's one thing I don't like with this game, is that it encourages reloading... A LOT of fucking reloading.

@Ghostdog

If you beat Xavier there's no point thinking about the gourds. Attack Takeda - if you take over their two initial provinces they should join along with conquered Houjou. Then blitz Mouri and better do it fast because 10 turns after Demon's defeat ITZ coming, and this time itz really ITZ.

The Demon can kill off the heads of each and every house you've not conquered except for Masamune (I think), effectively snatching their territory from you (happened to me in my 1st playthrough when he took over Tokuga just like that)

EDIT Don't need to tell me about reloading. Playing Rance on hardest level can be fucking painful (but still fun!) experience. My current playthrough went on hiatus just because I had enough of reloading each time when after fighting ultra hard battle I failed to capture one of Masamune's wives. Happened 12 times in a row with all the requirements fullfilled (not counting the times when I lost the battle in question).

Shit's addictive - I can say that - I've already completed all the official routes - twice on the highest level.

After Xavier is beaten the first time the gourds don't matter anymore. The demon army automatically appears soon and he recovers and destroys the gourds on his own.

You have very little chance of beating the One Eyed house before the demon army appears (check out the number of towns in their territories), and you REALLY don't want to be fighting them when shit hits the fan. It also wouldn't even help you much, since you can't get one of their women without Akashi and Hibachi. Without her, its VERY hard to beat Masamune, and without him, Omachi won't join you. So not much use in going after them.

I would take out Iga, then if you have time start with Mouri and Takuga trying to capture whatever commanders you want. Takeda is probably just impossible for you right now, their constant blitzes would be too much without really powerful characters that I'm sure you don't have in your first game.. The only way to take them out without holding back their blitzes it to blitz them yourself, which is impossible after they have 5 territories.

Thanks for the info !

Damn, it's addictive alright. I start in the evening to play "a few turns" and then suddenly it's 3:00 in the morning.

Yeah, I believe you may be fucked. Don't worry, though! Apparently it happens to everyone on their first playthrough . And you may still be able to salvage this (depending on your force composition, of course), just remember this piece of advice: if things start looking too bleak in a few turns, don't give up - you don't actually have to beat all of ITZ, if you just survive long enough the game will do most of the work for you. Not all of it, obviously, and it'll leave arguably the hardest part for you to do personally, but it should still be better than fighting ITZ at multiple fronts for many, many turns.

Without her, its VERY hard to beat Masamune, and without him, Omachi won't join you. So not much use in going after them.

Eh, it's possible, though rather luck based. You need to bring him to barely over 50% HP, and then be able to get rid of the rest before he acts again. Rance Attack helps here, and so does getting your two units to move consecutively at the right moment (which probably means realoading and fighting the battle for the province few times). Omachi is probably worth the trouble, but even then I'd wait until after the military situation with ITZ gets at least somewhat stable before thinking about starting that war.

If you can, try to cut into Mouri and get a bit further into the West.
