Also trying a "Rance viii" search I found announcement (or blog telling about the moonspeak announcement) that it would be coming out this year:

He seems to have another sword than Chaos in the pic?

It looks like Suzume's in the next game, judging by one of the microscopic portraits in the small screen caps there.

The more important question is whether or not Kenshin-chan is in the next game.
The million dollar question.

I'm pretty sure we will meet a mature Oda Kou :smug:

Maybe one day I'll get around playing this game. :) But honestly, I didn't expect them to just leave Sill like that at the end.

By all means do it! Despite cheesy, corny porn vibe this game initially gives there is more to it than meets the eye... Definitely among the Codex's best finds in our short history!

Now, if there was someone who could translate Rance VIII when it comes out. I guess Codex won't be up to the task with the shortage of weaboos, inherent lazines, and all :M

But that would mean at least 3-4 years must have passed since Sengoku Rance. Not likely they would do that.

Though having played Rance VI a little I must say Rance himself aged considerably in the time between the installments.

Apparently it's more like Rance VI, ie a RPG-dungeon romp without the strategy parts than Sengoku Rance (VII). Oh well, I still got Big Bang Age to finish and then there's that new game from Alicesoft which reimagines WW2 so as long as Yandere keeps translating it's all good.

EDIT: scratch that, I suck donkey balls. Google translator explains that only the first pic is from Rance 8, the others are from other Alicesoft games which are pure dating sims or something.

You would have to be absolutely stupid not to translate a game that has:

- Nazis that are run by a girl named Lidia Adolf:
alice_v09.jpg

- America that has a wimp President and in reality is run by a Shadow Government consisting of four corporations (capitalistic bitches to rape, hell yeah!):

- Italy... no comment, just look at the pic:

- France that is ultra-pacifistic :smug:

Here you can find a ton of info...

And of course rape:

Sounds like a huge work to translate too, though.

Also a question about Sengoku Rance: I played through Ran route now, but never got the chance to kidnap Kurohime. I got the scenes where Kou tells about the 4 bros visiting the dangoshop, then next turn a scene where at the beginning of turn there's a text saying "shimazu brothers are seeing someone" (where you usually see incomes etc, and on my turn not theirs) and turn starts with Suzume telling Rance about the bros. But then they never kidnap anyone, though I had some ladies on hate and normal.

Can anyone point out an reason for this/solution if I'd go back to an older save to see how the whole thing would be supposed to work out? Their capture events being start-of-turn events of so low priority that they never came up before I conquered them comes to mind, also the possibility that I took their provinces too early somehow messed it up.
/Edit: Tried starting from a save around the time they declare war, got this same convo with Suzume but this time immediately on the same turn start 3G reported that Yukihime has jumped. Dunno what caused the difference, I had raped Yukihime back then before (->she leaves) this event but there were other low affection girls to choose from too.

All the ogre battles were pathetically easy btw.

Somewhere in the Interwebz and figuring out what t
To Johannes, the reason the Shimazu bros were never kidnapping anyone was probably because you had higher priority events that displaced the defection events. If all goes to, well, quite frankly, shit, then you will just have to keep churning out those turns until they do defect someone - or, even worse, start from an earlier save point. Usually, there is a defection when Suzume warns Rance about the Shimazu bros right before the pre-turn event. So exactly why they haven't been kidnapping, I couldn't tell you for sure. Sadly, it's up to the game whether or not it feels like allowing the kidnapping event to happen.

But beware - once it DOES happen, there is a chance that they will kidnap someone else before you get the event that shows Rance in distress that the Shimazu bros are taking his bitches and Suzume suggesting that they kidnap Kurohime in return.

Keep at it - only in this route and Kill the Monkey can you recruit the Shimazu bros, and they are fucking worth it.

For information on Daiteikoku, I've posted some info on another thread with WhiskyWolf and others in it explaining some basics on the game. And yes, it's gonna be a bitch to translate - one website claims that Daiteikoku is the biggest project Alicesoft has ventured in, but it has voice acting (at least for part of the dialogue). Here's the link for that thread:

http://rpgcodex.net/phpBB/viewtopic.php ... 52#1643352

WhiskyWolf is right, they must be fuckin outta their minds if they don't translate this - Daiteikoku is already an awesome game even if it isn't translated. But playing it is the problem - that's where I come in handy :D

Finally managed to register :D
I've read many lots of LP here for the past days, and seeing no one ever LP'ed the different routes I think I'll do one, in appreciation of the great times I had reading this (and a lot other) thread.
I guess everyone played Rance a lot tho, so perhaps I should do an "extreme" run, like a 5 stars kill the monkey run going for a high score.

That isn't exactly correct.
