Trudograd hands down! Good job comrades.
Second place is between Diablo 2 and Pathfinder.
Biggest disappointment is Encased at the moment but there is still hope if they add more content later on.

I'm very into cock and ball torture
Colony Ship: A Post-Earth Role Playing Game. I guess. Does Knights of the Chalice 2 still count? It might have a steam/gog release this year. Maybe.

Forget Encased. It's not salvageable.

There are many re-releases, remakes, remasters and localizations this year

And between actually new games, there are a lot of disappointment titles

I honestly hesitate on playing any release thr first year or two. I might buy it if severeky discounted but until all its add-on DLC, and a generous amount of patching I just pass. It doesn't stop me from watching vids and weighing comments.

I'm pretty much the same, in general. Usually I wait at least 3-6 months until at least some of the major bugs have been fixed.

On a related note, I think it would be better if the GOTY voting was delayed by a year (e.g. vote at the end 2021 for the 2020 games). Well, or at least delay it by a few months. Most people don't even get a chance to play the games released close to the end of the current year by the time the voting is closed.

Either History of Khorinis or Chronicles of Myrtana for Gothic II if they would actually get released this year.

I agree with this.
Skip the 2021 GOTY, host the 2021 GOTY next year.

I've said this every year. We need time to play the damn games, and most of them come out right before the end of the year.

I've not been able to vote past years on the GOTY, only the 5-year or All-time retrospectives.

Who even cares? After a visual novel winning 2019, Codex GOTY became as worthless as any of the 10000 journo GOTY awards.
The collective butthurt that Disco created on Codex, that is somehow still going 2 years later, will never stop being funny to me.

Wait until we put Disco Elysium on the top of the next edition of RPG Codex 100 best RPGs ever!

The butthurt shall break the Internet.
DE is easily in the top 10 if you ask me.
