From Anshar Studios, who was one of two Polish studios doing D:OS 2's gift bags updates.

You will hunt down the criminals of virtual worlds. Rich, spoiled businesspeople, mothers who want a better life for their children, or corporations with plans to rewrite humanity. Are they acting alone, or are they mere puppets? What does a "happy ending" mean to you or to them? Each decision you make shapes the game world and your character’s personality.

Some decisions will feel right, and others will be unexpected. The game continually adapts to your choices and never judges – only you can judge yourself.

Welcome to Warsaw City in the XXII century, where "real" is a relative term and "life" and "death" have many meanings. Virtual worlds give rise to real problems: lust, sloth, envy, and pride. That’s why the residents of these virtual game-worlds need specialists – Gamedecs who discover and exploit cheats hidden in the realities of their clients. Wild West or the jungle of a prehistoric entertainment park, throughout these and many other worlds, they are facing human nature, which, despite many changes, has remained the same...

Gamedec is a pure RPG experience equipped with mechanics such as a codex, aspects, and deduction. Fight conversational duels, discover or build schemes of intrigue, save lives, and discover extraordinary relationships between the virtual worlds and their inhabitants. The game emulates the nature of a tabletop RPG by focusing on choice-dependent character building.

Gamedec, like classic tabletop RPGs, gives you the freedom to approach situations from multiple angles rather than forcing a single solution. Remember: the choice is yours.

Wow, what a year for RPGs this is.

And once again a studio launches a Steam page for their game before they even tweet about it. That website is just a placeholder.

Anshar (this), Fool's Theory (Seven), Event Horizon (Tower of Time, Dark Envoy), Polish isometric RPG supremacy. Motivated by the success of Divinity, facilitated by the success of CDPR?

(I'm also looking forward to what Artificer, the successor of CreativeForge, is cooking.)

What's your point?

It used to be that games didn't even get Steam pages until they were close to release, or sometimes even on the day of release. Now games are being announced by having their Steam pages appear all of a sudden, before there's a press release, a trailer on YouTube, a proper website, or even a tweet. That's funny to me.

Hi guys, my name is Matt, and I'm a Community Manager at Anshar Studios.

Your feedback is heartwarming! We're happy to see that you already dig this one up and yup - we're revealing this title today. We've got a lot to cover, a solid book series to adapt, and we want to underline this - adapt. It won't be a 1:1 title, so if you read the books, you won't be able to predict what's in the game. We're working closely with M. Przybyłek, who's the author of the books and he's very eager to discuss and consult our ideas. We're hyped, and we hope you will enjoy the game. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask, we'll gather the questions and answer them on a separate occasion.

Website is live.

Gamedec – a story-driven, cyberpunk-themed, adaptive RPG is currently in development by Anshar Studios and set to debut in 2020

Gamedec is an adaptive, cyberpunk RPG game from Anshar Studios. This brand new project is based around a private detective who solves crimes committed in virtual game worlds. The title will debut in 2020.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – August 8th, Katowice, Poland.

It’s Warsaw City in the 22nd century, and thanks to the existence of virtual worlds, "reality" is a relative concept, and "life" and "death" have many meanings. New worlds, however, give rise to new problems. Desire, jealousy, greed, and lust for power are ever present. Many things have changed, but human nature is not one of them. That’s why society in the 22nd century needs Gamedecs – detectives who handle frauds, crimes, and conspiracies committed in virtual worlds. Child slavery in F2P games, the suicide of a professional player – cases like that are what they deal with on a daily basis. In the new Anshar Studios game, the player becomes one of these detectives.

Watch the Gamedec Announcement Trailer HERE to see what awaits you in this futuristic and dystopian world.

You can already add the game to your Steam Wishlist (https://store.steampowered.com/app/917720/Gamedec/), not to miss any updates on its ongoing development.

A special, early version of the game will be premiered at Gamescom, while at PAX West in Seattle, a game demo will be made available to guests of the event. And if you’re heading to Cologne and would like to check out a hands-off demo at Gamescom, you’ll be able to meet the developers in the Business Area, Hall 4.1, Booth A-071G (Indie Games Poland). To book your appointment, please contact Agnieszka Szóstak at [...]

In Gamedec, decisions are important, and the game world constantly adapts to them and to the hero, who changes as the story progresses. The consequences of choices made, like in “real” life, can be immediate, long-term, or hidden - the latter most often surfacing at unexpected moments. Regardless of the decisions made, however, the game always remains neutral towards them. It’s up to the player to evaluate them, bearing in mind the saying “you are the sum of your choices.”

The studio’s new game returns to the foundations of the RPG genre by adding Deduction, Codex, and Aspects mechanics to allow for complex discussions, as the players create or expose networks of intrigues and conspiracies, while discovering unusual relationships between virtual worlds. Gamedec’s paper-based RPG mechanics give players the freedom to approach things from multiple perspectives, rather than finding a single solution - the choice is ultimately theirs.

Gamedec is currently under development. The game is planned to be released in 2020.

More information about the game can be found on the game’s official website.

Well for me it looks more interesting than Cyberpunk 2077. Word Isometric from that trailer already put it above Cyberpunk in my book :)

Looks interesting. What engine is the game being built with?

Imagine someone is naughty in the virtual world, but it has an impact in the real world. And the other way around. In any case, you're the one whom people will speak to investigate the issue. It's not always welcome to talk to the press, and someone might be doing something that would ruin his or her career in a matter of seconds. You might try to help him or expose him - as we said, you're in charge of those decisions.

Sounds relevant to what's going on today with social media and in MMOs with massive economies linked to RMT.
Looking forward to seeing more.

Cyberpunk Warsaw is a bit too much for me. I can understand dragons, magic, elves, even gods, but this is just too unrealistic.

Gamedec stands for game detective and typical plot of the books has you going into the game and posing as NPC to solve crimes. And it's nothing like William Gibson writing nonsense about virtual space without any idea how even a calculator works. This guy is quite crafty and has extensive knowledge of gaming.

This could be good, I'm looking forward to hearing more.

Gamedec is story-driven and violent. We have a writer on board, and we intend to use it wisely.
