So reqs are:

Free balling no grid attachment
The Magic World 2 has free balling, seems

Something just feels off with this genre of game and more modern graphics. Like you've hit the uncanny valley of weirdness. I can see a fully realized 3D world, I have a party of 4 characters, yet I only hear one set of footsteps.

edit: and what is with their mouths all hanging open and the super creepy character voices @ 22:50?

Oh, there are sound effects that are pretty bad. You can only hope they try better. Yes, many sounds and gfx seem to carry over from the first game to the second. Not hard to miss at all.

What I want to know is how bad off are the players vs mobs. There is nothing I hate more than starter mobs being huge damage sponges and worse.. tpk machines. That sets the pace for either an autist challenge or just plain terrible gameplay. I don't want piss poor easy either.

Also, I have found a proper blog for me, the name is everything you need to know https://freeroamblobber.com/
Cool blog and it showed me another interesting game to keep an eye on.

Trigger warning: Synty.

Choosing male symbol turns character into female one and female symbol turns one into male.

Yep, 17 FPS is expected here.

I don't recall generating this character with a beard :?.

Constant delay between actions and end turn are really annoying. Plus inability to turn your camera diagonally while giving everyone ability to shoot diagonally - annoying too.

Anyway, currently it's a barely working alpha where many things aren't working but i think it's got dat potential.
My favourite minor thing is that you can bypass walls with a teleport spell. Not sure if it's a bug or a feature tho.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Gridless blobbers are way too rare, they have such potential. All the simple fun of the blobber gameplay loop, but with more potential for exploration by having a fully unlocked 3D environment.

The problem with gridless blobbers is shit needs to move in real time, which makes backtracking an enormous pain in the ass. Exploration necessitates backtracking. Ergo, gridless blobber = tedious exploration.

I remember the thrill i played a grid-less and saw a secret door bookcase swing open. There was some real awe at the time of some of these games. Maybe I was easily amused since I mostly stuck to ancient games.

It really depends on which game is. In M&M6 I have no problem with backtracking. While in The Magic World is really pain in the ass. I suspect every modern grid blobber has slow animated walking while in M&M6 you can run. (and fly :smug: )

True enough. Ample teleporting/mark/recall access can make things better too. But my standard for what is good is MM5 and under, where movement takes a single frame and you can book it through a dungeon in a few seconds if you know the route. Grimoire was fine as well, especially thanks to the auto travel feature.

Hey! It is on sale even + free demo.

Five minutes into playing, and I’ve already stumbled upon gold coins hidden around a dusty, inconspicuous corner; nearly scaled a boulder-cliff by jumping (!)—only to fail and fall before reaching the top (fall damage included); and overheard a giant talking rat arguing that the whole "Kill all rats infesting..." premise is a horrible lie, accusing us of being no different from all the other adventurers who came with violent intentions to exterminate his kind needlessly.

Wow, consider me impressed.

EDIT: I don't know if it's a bug, or the fact I'm only trying out the demo, or whatever, but I've solved two quests and didn't receive any EXP. Those came only from killing monsters so far.
