And how would you recognize an ignorant post, if not by reading it? :) And if you read it, judge it by the content. In any case, you will read the post before moving on, so why should you care who wrote it?

Well of course I read it, and being that it is ignorant, by moving on, I mean I tend to ignore those people and especially those threads started by those people.

I see a thread called "The Original Fallout 3 Was Going to Suck" or some such. Curious I click in...its uninformed drivel with no facts, just a vapid opinion...I know now to disregard posts or threads by the starter of that thread.

If I saw that thread started by one of our regulars, I'd expect something a bit more substantive...not necessarily...but greater odds.

Its not black and white, but it helps corral my time in what I look at and what I'll expect to participate in. I don't consider myself dumb (thanks Calis :)) yet find post counts to be the proverbial first impression. Right or wrong, my knee jerk reaction is to be ready to dismiss someone with low post counts until they've contributed intelligently to discussions. Now with that said, I've been impressed with many of the recent new posters, in both substance and humor. Well written and works well with others sort of thing. Hehe. So while clearly, my focusing on post counts is without real merit, it still is something I tend to look over at. We were all post count 1 at one point.

While perhaps its trendy to be angst ridden, derisive and ad-hominem, I prefer posters that have demonstrated interest in the site, the other posters and the topics. If then they want to be assholes from time to time (DU) I actually tend to really enjoy that. :D My point though is that more times than not, people with exceptionally high post counts are not spammers, and truly love the forum and actively participate TO discuss topics within their interests. I can't see their hundreds or thousands of posts being all about penises and ass sex. :shock:

All in all, its not something I dwell on, but within the context of this discussion, I find them somewhat telling...but not conclusive.

Cheers

If I worked for Bethesda or Bioware I'd be on a Halo forum, not the Codex. Anyways, sorry for posting so much, I'll lay off or something.

Am I happy you don't work for Bethesda, you'd really fuck up the game.

Maybe you just need a good link to a pornsite? Or a browsergame!?
And if this won't help, why don't you play a good new cRPG? :lol:
:P, thanks for the advice. That's partly it, the only games I have just ready to play are Doom 2 and Starcraft (I might play PS:T through again). Also, a lack of challenging homework this semester and a better schedule has given me a surprisingly more free time despite my taking more classes than last semester, so I end up clicking the Codex link on my taskbar whenever I'm bored.

@proweler
Wtf?

I like the join date/post count when i can weed out fanboys or schills signing up just to annoy us. Otherwise, i could care less. I mean... does anyone think Volourn's opinion means much because of his insane post count?

My postcount says I'm a happy outgoing guy, not too shy, likes long walks on the beach, has interior decorating as a serious hobby, and prefers shaved men, though not limited in any way by body hair. My joined date has my measurements written between the lines (58-82-69), PM if interested.

To be honest, I don't care about postcount, but I do identify people by their avatars. It can be slightly confusing when a n00bian picks the same avatar as a regular member, especially if they make as much, or as little sense, as the regular poster.

Wtf?

Judging from you pictures, perhaps a little exercise wouldn't go amiss?
