Obsidian destroyed glorious Dungeon Siege Franchise. This thread proves it.
    http://forums.obsidian.net/index.php?showtopic=57534

Dungeon Siege Fans are very angry at Obsidian. Chris Taylor (GasPoweredGames) better than Avellone and Ziets.

If this demo Entertains me i will buy your game.

I could kind of go for a mindless hack and slash.

    I alt-tabbed for a minute.

    What the fuck.

    What the fuck.

    Barrel-smashing simulator?
Also, if you are going to make an action-RPG, picking up items has to be easy.

    Oh Obsidian. :M

Edit: If you are going to put in Hardcore difficulty, which is good, why is the camera more threatening than all the enemies put together?

Edit 2: You know what? Fuck this demo.

New challenge: How far can you get before you have to quit? I quit at "linear corridor forest" (it's after linear corridor village).

Screw you guys. First the Nintendo E3 and now this? I'm going to get a Frappucino and visit the nearest Pokemon Center for a consolidation prize.

    Not bad.

Not great, but not bad for a hackyslashy type thing.

I tried the demo (finished it about an hour ago or so). And this below Obsidian's standard. The story is not great, the art design is meh, the characters are bland and uninspired, the writing are even more uninspired, and the voice acting is terrible. In my opinion of course.

Then there's the fact that as Jasede says the levels are linear village, linear forest, linear cave etc. It really means that you're not getting into the whole flow of swing, hack & slash in a proper way. Especially since enemies jump at you (which is OK), but the linear and narrow levels means there's isn't enough room for you to maneouver around in, circling the enemies, hacking and slashing them.

And, oh why, must every Obsidian title have problems with the camera; not a problem it didn't mean that I died (or Lucas died) a lot of times due to the @%&!%* camera.

Still, I had some fun, but not enough fun to buy this game at full price.

Also, story talks about Legion and their (pure) blood? What? And someone being of Legion blood?
    -eh- what-?

Camera was fine with a controller, as was picking up loot.
The keyboard and mouse controls are definitely an abortion though.

As for my take on the demo, it was pretty fun with Anjali. There were a couple of sidequests and all the enemies/chests hemorrhaged phat lewt.I played it on hardcore and died once (enemies deal a ton of damage) but it wasn't particularly challenging since dodging is a breeze. They did seem to ignore my summon and just focus me though, which was annoying but smart of them I suppose.
Definitely a good hack and slash game. :M

They're staying true to the spirit of DS 1/2.

And so far there only seems to be compatability with xbawx controllers.

OK, I don't usually bitch much, but this is as bad as it gets.

Took me an hour to finish the demo, which was spent:

    - fighting with the absurd mouse + keyboard control scheme (mouse used for two buttons, keyboard for camera), trying to navigate around the obstacles
    - switching screens, to find all the information that somehow just couldn't fit onto my big LCD screen
    - wondering why they waste 5% of my screen to display black bars
    - staring at boobs, ass (good part)
    - fighting with controls again. trying to pick-up loot that was trying to avoid being picked up.

On the plus side, there seem to be many abilities, combinations, skills. But, the game is pain.

    sounds like dungeon siege, alright.
the only remaining question is whether coop has an assist button that lets you pretend to still be playing the game, like the first one did.

I don't know about Dip Shit 2/3, but first one had auto-looting/picking up (like auto- everything else).

The automatic looting in Dungeon Siege was the only good feature. There is nothing fun about the act of picking up loot.

I was more referring to the barrel/crate/vase breaking. But yeah, barrel-fest + manual loot (click) would definitely = shit.
