Gothic is not an RPG

It is an RPG but has a different take.

Unlike the traditional RPG's, Gothic still has a character with various stats to improve but PB chose to give a single character that you can control rather than different types of class, or races, etc

Similarly no PnP type rules as seen in classic RPGs with dice roling in the background. PB simply replaces it with a system of live action combat. Your hits will land 100%. No hit chance type randomness.

Then.. there's still dialog boxes with multiple options to choose just like old RPGs

You have various other features commonly seen with RPGs like inventory, pick up items to consume or wearable armors, potion making, and a large open world to loot and discover secrets.

What else do you need to feel like an RPG?
