Just make Vice City 2 already.

I don't want a life-sim, nor some false attempt at an "RPG", I want to drive around in cool 80's cars, wearing cool 80's cloths, fucking & killing prostitues to cool 80's music.

All these fucking GTA games, and the most memorable moments are still jump-rolling a lightening speed Lamborghini Countach through the air, and beating someone to death on a gold course to the sound of "Japanese Boy"

No, it's kicking grandma in nuts and see her sprint just as fast as Tommy, or shanking police officers with screwdriver or being shot at in ice cream truck with a penis on roof by haitian gangsters because you sell drugs or jumping through buildings on race bike to turn on spotlights advertising new porn vhs.

Man I miss Vice City.

I just can not wait to play a mass murdering psychopath who inexplicably declines / refuses prostitutes and has a soft spot for the plight of minorities and progressive politics during an era where it doesn’t make any goddamn sense on my new Google Stadia!

At this point I'd rather play a game from the pov of law enforcement. So much trolling fun could be had in this political climate.

Great shout. Playing a bent 80's copper on the take would be mint. Imagine the fun you could have abusing your status & power :bounce:

I'm surprised to hear anything at all about it, with GTA online still raking in cash. Or is it on the decline?

It still does very well but that doesn't mean a new one with an even larger online focus and likely on new consoles wouldn't sell like fucking gangbusters.

Vice City, Bully, and San Andreas were peak GTA, it all went downhill after that
FTFY, granted I still haven't played any of the red dead games so I suppose I can't say that with certainty yet.

I was thinking more along lines of playing as the last honest cop or a Lethal Weapon buddy cop.

Hey if Rockstar want to keep persuing the "RPG" route, having the choice to be both would be nice.

Man, I hope the flashback parts is not a major thing that you can switch to and from frequently if its real. I kinda hated how I switched between characters in 5.

Meh, they still have to top San Andreas and judging by their track record, that ain't gonna happen anytime soon especially with their newfound interest in the online portion of the game.

Funny, GTA will be the new RPG and Elder Scrolls will be the new GTA

San Andreas has stat (for example fat or muscle) that you can acquire or even LOSE, that was very interesting and underused in other games. inIf Morrowind people bunnyhop because they get acrobatics that means +strength when level, imagine how much bunnyhopping if they use Elder Scroll leveling system + losing skills you don't use.

I strongly wish they would go with a less parody-themed and darker story and tone, like they do in RDR. I'm sure there is no hope for this though, dark doesn't sell as well as parody.

just waiting for the time they use a more exotic setting instead of yet another american city and yet another satire of american society. it's all so boring after 20+ years of GTA.

Given that anything with stats is called an RPG now-a-days, I don't see why San Andreas wouldn't qualify honestly.

surprised this hasnt happened yet. People have been asking for GTA: cops since vice city. I wouldve expected at least one publisher attempt to make that game happen, shit or not. Closest its come is LA Noire, which isnt really a GTA clone, and Sleeping Dogs, where you're not really a copper anyway.

The immigrant angle and the occasional and optional interaction with your mother back in Croatia was the only deeper and more realistic thing I can think of. Nico's monologues and remorse about him being in the war were rather weakly written.
