Baldur's Gate How far (level wise) did you reach in your first BG3 honor mode run?

Which level your first char was when he died?

Just curious. I want to read about the runs of other people and how they eventually lost their character.

In my case, I played with this mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/5328), which is a P&P conversion of a blood mage, and in the middle of Act 2, at level 8 , at Sharn's temple, I missed the Gale magical nuke and killed myself. Screenshot bellow.

I also had some "close calls." Eg., in Act 1, I almost got killed by the giantic spider. The hag was a quite tense fight; I avoided any serious optional enemy like in the forge, and the "lantern spider" in Act 2 almost made me lose my party[/ISPOILER]

"Honor mode" is when your character disappears after the first death, right? Why would I do that? You mean, if my character is dead, I have to replay this shit from the beginning? Lol.

No, you can keep playing, but you won't get the "finished game in honor mode without dying" cheevo. It also adds other stuff.

Hm, ok. Looks pretty clever, I didn't know that.

-> creates buggy game in notoriously buggy genre

-> hell yeah let's slap ironman mode on it

I got to the end of the Shar temple before I glitched out by falling into nothing, died and the game was like you suck. ROFL.

honor mode ends if the entire party gets wiped, unless your xbox gets shut off by accident before that happens, which happened to me several times.

I think I was about level 4 or 5. Died to the hag. Mind you I was going in blind having only played a little before. Had a great time even after that, to me honor mode should be the default difficulty. I dropped the game somewhere in act 2 to revisit older RPGs I haven't yet completed.

I played for two days on super-easy mode and still managed to die about 30 times.

In my opinion video-games are just skimming the surface when it comes to easy mode.

In the future I expect they'll be 60 easy modes, each easier than the last.

I may even play Dark Souls.

I finished the game without dying on my first honor mode run. I had already finished it on tactician and had metagaming knowledge though.

I also cheesed some fights with barrelmancy - e.g: blew up Minthara and Dror without having to fight them, rigged the soul pillars with smokepowder before fighting Raphael, etc

I died escaping the Nautiloid in my first Honour Mode run because I was determined to kill Zhalk or die trying. On the next run I died to the intellect devourers because I accidentally started fighting them solo and on the one after than I completed the Honour Mode run successfully. I think if I'd had an Act 2 or 3 Honour Mode death I would have quit trying for Honour Mode altogether to be honest, I'm far too easily frustrated.

I can see the future now. A developer video featuring a purple haired transexual in a wheelchair telling everyone how excited they are to introduce 60 new inclusive easy mode difficulties for their upcoming rpg

If you decide to play in Honor mode, you must know that any mistake don't matter how shitty is or bad roll can end your run, don't matter if you invested 100 hours on it. I only play this types of games in Iron Man or Honor mode once, to see how far I can do.

The exception to it is DDO. I reached lv 13 in my first hardcore league and play every hardcore league at least once.

The best way to role-play is on super-easy mode. Then you can build a character around charisma, intelligence, whatever —— all without dying every 5 minutes.

This is assuming that you're playing a game that's not just combat.
