the silly Disgaea jrpg is made with an idea that you must break the game and the grind to beat hardest parts. game features literal NPC called "cheat shop" with sliders that allow you to control gained xp, skill points, money and other stuff. you end base game with some banal stats and then meet enemies which has millions of stats. to beat them you must grind correctly and effectively gaining same amount of stats from multiple sources, including base level, quality of your class and class masteries, permanent consumable boosts and items which can be leveled up in an infinite dungeon. the whole thing is a chore but because game narrative was always about playing a demon who is supposed to cheat and use dirty tricks to defeat enemies it makes sense.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Can't see grinding being fun in anything but an MMORPG where you can chat with others also grinding (at least in the old days of the internet people would talk back) and have something to show off for your hard work in front of other players

Why not take some office job instead? You get to grind there too (do some bullshit work with excel files or some shit), you can chat with your co-workers (back when I worked at uni we had a very chatty secretary), and you get something to show off with (actual real money).
