Nice little gem. The possibilities are quite wide, even if the main "plot" is strictly on rails.

Yeah, I hope they will be able to expand the forking a bit in their next game. Still, I see a lot of potential here.

Whats with the adventurers party? My dragon just scares them and then sets a trap. Crushes a bridge they are on. Only the rogue escapes and steals little bit of the hoard.

But I did spare the wizard ally in the end... I regret that, setting up a magical trap didn't work anyway.

I lured the heroes into a trap (no freakin' way I'm tangling with adventurers who only got more excited after I tried to scare them, that's a bad sign), and used the magical trap to keep myself safe while I hibernated. They both worked perfectly, so apparently my Cunning and Finesse were up to the job.

Unfortunately, high stats in those two along with my Infamy made it so the Wizard didn't trust me, and I had to face Vermias by myself, meaning I got a wound blowing through her hoards...before snapping her in half.

Anybody managed to get a mate? I think this is the key to surviving hibernation, Goblin Elite guards do nothing, and the magic trap requires high cunning I think.

I succeeded without Vermias uninjured. Start at bottom of tower, high Finesse needed.

Hm, looks like finding a mate really doesn't matter when it comes time to hibernate. That's a shame.

Time to try a more Brutal approach.

Tried to have my spies find one for me, but apparently I play too conservative and hadn't cultivated a big enough network or something. So I went home and said screw it. For a second there I was actually tempted to rely on my Elite Goblins (I had pampered the little buggers, and given them blessings when they wanted it and real weapons for the odd heroic one)...

...but then I realized what I was thinking and smacked myself. Since when have Goblin *anything* stopped determined adventurers/thieves?

So I went with the magical trap, and that held up great.

Better this time. If you're Infamous enough, you can just say "no one would dare to steal from me"...and you'll be right.

The best approach I've found to the Adventurers is to kidnap the princess and eat her in front of them. This demoralizes them, and you can kill all but one - the bard, who remains alive and tells stories of your greatness.

Also, pseudo-spoiler:

You can die:

As you are flying one day, a blue thunderbolt knocks you from the air.

While you try to recover, an avatar of the goddess of war attacks you. "The gods are much angered by your blasphemy, lizard!"

With the first strike of her sword, both your wings are gone; you plummet to the ground with a deafening thud. With another strike of her sword, she blinds you in holy light.

With the final blow, she severs your head from your body, taking it as a trophy for the heavens.

You have died.

Yeah, leaving the Elite Goblins to guard the treasure didn't work all that well. But with no Cunning to speak of, I doubt the spell would've worked any better, in this case.

Pretty fun IF game. Interesting solutions to problems, like getting the adventurers to back down if you eat the princess causing them to fail their quest. Survived hibernation by training an elite goblin squad, they kicked a lot of ass.

Anyone know of any other games like this? Only ones I've ever bothered with were the Lone Wolf books, which are awesome btw.

I had very loyal goblin guards and nothing was removed from my inventory. So I think that success depends on how loyal are your subjects.

An easy way to survive the adventurers (if you don't have spectacular stats either way), is to kidnap a princess once they show up, then just let her go after she promises gold. She reneges on the offer, but the Adventurers just get bored and wander off.

I kidnapped the princess, waited for the adventurers to come to my lair and ate the princess in front of them. They were so demoralized, they couldn't fight back and tried to flee. I ate them. Mmmmmmm

Rather enjoyable, actually. It would be interesting to see something similar with even more branching possibilities.

I don't believe you can, only the visual representation lacking any specific numerical values. The exact percentages only show up once you've finished.
