What is the point of the manga? Well IMO what it does, it does it to entertain. It makes me think in a movie like Driver that while it was only an action movie the content was subtle and didn't give you all the answers which made you think. In this case this is just a well done action-seinen manga that presents different characters in this exaggerated enviroment that I guess represent actual society with the ridiculous war that nobody understands why they're fighting, the zero value of life shown in the enforcements and the war, all these predators hunting and all the zebras like yamada that go on with their lives until they get touched with this madness, the struggles to survive, etc.

In the middle of all is our hero Mizoguchi Kano... I gotta say, from what I know, the author has a good grasp on what is the mindset of a psychotic. A friend that's studying to be a psychoanalyst told me that for them there are 3 "mind structures", one of them is that of the "psychotic" (USA and other places only have a certain type of psychology so they may know it with other names), the thing that differentiates the psychotic from the "neurotic" (which are normal people) is that they lack the means to understand "the metaphor". He gave me an example: You may tell a psychotic "can you close the door?" and he may respond "yes" if he could instead of closing it, in a way its the most "pure logic" structure, they take everything you say in a literal way. These are the people that also get hallucinations, just like our friend Kano so IMO its well done.

Why did he put him here? Because he's a cool badass, that's why. The author looks to be entertaining and I thank him for it.

And Chapter 50, in which our hero calls things as they are.

Thus, the long arc ends. I'm going to post the next chapter, which acts as an epilogue to it, in the next update, and chapter 52 (which is the last in Volume 8) after we reach the next page. Then, it will be awesome and happy times for fans of Mizoguchi-kun, as we slowly approach the final arc.
