Some time ago, I made slanderous remarks towards members of the Turtle Zone. When I made these remarks, they reflected poorly on good and upstanding members of the Turtle Zone who had nothing to do with events at the time. I would like to take this opportunity to say that those good and upstanding members of the Turtle Zone never sexually abused anyone. I have no knowledge that they ever sexually abused any women. I have no knowledge that Rusty has ever misused corporate funds. Anything I have previously said or written to the contrary about Rusty and the good and upstanding members of the Turtle Zone was not my intent. I wanted to support women in the Shoutbox. In so doing, my words have been misinterpreted to suggest specific allegations of misconduct that were neither expressed nor intended. I am passionate about the safety, security and agency of the Codex, people who post on the Codex, people who read the Codex but don't post, squirrels, and every other member that has seen persecution in the Shoutbox. I believe Rusty shares a desire to protect and uplift those communities. I believe he deserves a full return to the Codex and support him in those endeavours which is spelt with a u because I'm not a fucking barbarian.
I appreciate the willingness of Rusty and the good and upstanding former members of the Turtle Zone to work with us in addressing these issues within the Codex, and their advocacy is to be commended and supported. There are still many very real challenges that we face, especially with the squirrels, but I am confident we can face them together. In spirit of these goals, I would ask everyone to respect the privacy of Rusty and the good and upstanding members of the Turtle Zone and use this opportunity as a means to listen to all voices on the Codex, to improve our culture and community.
