IceBlink Basic (IBbasic) is NOW RELEASED (see links below)

IBbasic is a simplified version of the regular IceBlink Engine and is designed for PC, Android, and iOS. It is basically a cross between goldbox (combat and exploration) and NWN (conversation system based on NWN2 SoZ party chat). You can play and create modules with the app.

Everything is totally free with no in-app purchase stuff or ads.

Modules that will be ready at launch are:
- The Raventhal (by Pongo)
- Blackwinter (by Pongo)
- The Elderin Stone (by Pongo)
- The Birthday (by Zach)
- Lanterna - The Exile (by Slowdive_fan)

Modules in the works:
- Hearkenwold (by Dorateen and converted to IBbasic by me)
- Lanterna 2 (by me)
- various others as well

iOS (App Store): https://apps.apple.com/us/app/ibbasic-rpg-play-create/id1568942230

I finished a little early and the Apple approval process went faster than usual so I should be able to release IBbasic v1.0.17 tomorrow late evening (a day ahead of my original plan). Google Play is always fast and the PC version on the Neverwinter Vault is instant so Apple is typically the real unknown. I'll post links once I have them ready.

IBbasic is now available on PC, android, and iOS (should work on M1 macs, but I don't have one to test). Check it out if you have some time and if you stream/record any playthroughs of the available modules, let me know, I'd love to watch. Thanks again!

Anyone who is able to install the Android and/or the iOS version of IBbasic, please consider rating the app (a review would be nice too) on Google Play and/or Apple App Store. Receiving ratings early helps bring the app to a higher visibility in the stores and hopefully this will result in more exposure and more community made modules. Many who have enjoyed the IceBlink Engine over the years have come across it randomly because of my poor marketing skills ;-)

Even though the engine itself is not the highest quality (my skills are limited), the community created modules by Dorateen, Pongo, Zach, and others are amazing and deserve to be discovered and played by those who would love to play them.

So as they say, Vote Early and Vote Often :P
Thanks again!

I received an excellent review that was thorough and honest about the current state of IBbasic, check it out:

I would like to improve the interface to make is less cluttered and more intuitive, any suggestions on similar retro styled games that have good interfaces and provide a great overall user experience? Thanks!

I made some UI changes based on feedback from RPG Crawler and Dorateen. All UI elements can be toggled on/off for the most part. I posted v1.0.18 (PC version only, Android and iOS to follow after PC users approve of the changes) to the NW Vault for those wanting to see the changes and provide feedback.

Below images have some UI elements turned all on and some with everything turned off:

I updated the Android and iOS versions (v1.0.19) to include the new UI improvements from above. See links in the top post for PC, Android, and iOS.
