My guess is that this game (good or bad) is pretty much going the shovelware route, its been what? almost 5 days since release and they are at mixed ratings (58% ) on steam... their maximum concurrent players was 3 days ago with only 547 players.

It sounds like a failure to me.

This looks kinda interesting, so I would also be grateful if any prestigious codexer gave some insight.

I played the beta a bit. It was interesting, but needed work. A lot of work. I ended up refunding it because I didn't want to pay for potential, which seemed to have been the right choice. Reading the reviews, it seems that most of the issues persist. It's shallow and repetitive. It has a good theme and potential for flavorful vamp strategy gaming, but they fail to capitalize on that and most of the units are just generic chaff with a different name. Combat feels clunky too because the battle maps suck and archers can't move and shoot on the same turn. It's way, way too expensive for what the game ultimately offers you.

I'm always interested in Heroes of Might & Magic like games so was pretty exited when I saw this the other day. Although in the end from videos I've watched it looks closer to other games then HoMM. Eg it's gothic art style is more Disciples and it uses a Eador & AoW-Planetfall like territory/province system, a research system (called legacy), and it looks like most of the game's mechanics (empire, heroes, spells etc) revolve around an interesting card deck system and all the cards have these cool animations. Looks like there's no gorgeous HoMM style city screen where you build buildings sadly but in the main map view you can develop provinces with some interesting building upgrades. I did think to myself "it looks cool but is there enough depth to keep me interested in the late game" and sure enough I'm see comments like you guys have posted about this issue, and all the AI complaints...

Won't run on my current PC so for the moment it'll sit in the wishlist and I'll wait for a sale after they've hopefully done some patches and addon packs with more content as it just seems like it 'needs more stuff' lol.
