Hmm used the acceleration layer plugin in its latest version and immediately it broke the script for a quest that had you travel...

SPOILER

...to the mind of the dead emperor Pelagius the Mad and coax Sheogorath to return from his 'vacation'. The problem is that the scripts that should trigger when the Wabbajack is used is not fired, making it impossible to complete the mission. After its removal, the script resumed working.

Are you sure you used the latest version (wich should be v3 or something)?
The broken scripts thing was widespread with v1 but allegedly has been fixed by now.
At least the quests that made problems for me in v1 are working with v3.

I want Todd Howard to get kidnapped, just for a day, and be tied to a chair with his eyes forced open and made to stare at those for hours on end. Just so he knows what he hath wrought. This is the audience Bethesda targets now.

So, how much until the game is playable? I say four or five months. They need to re-do the quests structure, add some NPCs, fix the combat, fix the level scaling, fix the horse, probably re-do the dungeons... am i missing anything?

I call bullshit because the game is already quite playable without mods. It's at least Morrowind level of not requiring mods to fix it. Once they release the toolset I still sure as shit am going to download a cliffracer reducer mod though because Jesus, but even without mods it's quite good.

I hereby officially upgrade Skyrim's status to "Mods'll improve it".

I call double bullshit this game isn't even fixable. Installing mods is more fun then playing this shit.

Can't tell if you're joking or equating the Dragons to cliffracers. I know after my first character I made a point of ignoring the Jarl's quest to explore the Barrow. Everywhere I went one of those fuckers was there.

Custom Difficulty, to help those who find it annoying that raising to Expert or Master means massive enemy life bloat while you become weaker all around. Making for long, dreary ass battles.

I prefer the 1.5 plugin, and then playing at Adept using this mod. You're doing 1.5x damage compared to Vanilla, they're at 3X, but their health pools haven't become the size of Texas. Combat is snappy, and you really do have to make good use of your stuns and staggers if a couple opponents are around.

Edit: Apprentice has enemies doing 2.5x base damage, which is only a bit above Vanilla Master damage for them, so if you're annoyed they still have an advantage, go for that.

This was my experience with most of the mods made by the TES community. Most of them are garbage that do not add any value to the game. These mods, while sometimes funny, represent the mind of most TES users - fucking stupid.

CK is out, a lot of rage and butthurt is to be had while trying to mess around with it, but slowly the first CK-made mods are emerging.
Not much really great stuff yet, though.

Nevertheless, it's time for a new round of majestic Skyrim mods.

1. For your inner graphic-whore:
Realistic Lighting with customization
Customizable lighting overhaul, without the use of post-processing like FXAA injectors or such. Most notable feature: darker nights and interiors.

Static mesh improvement mod
Improves several low-poly models, fixes a ton of UV errors, generally improves visuals, without being to demanding (yet). Very much WIP.

Shadow striping fix
Fixes the strange interference-like pattern you get on some interior shadows.

A quality world-map with roads
Slightly higher-resolution world map, now with roads, several options to choose from.

2. For your inner sound-whore:
Sounds of Skyrim
Adds many ambient sounds, depending on your location, to enhance atmosphere, so far dungeons is available, more to come.

3. Gameplay
Midas Magic
Tons of new unique spells, still a very early version though. Will eventually come with quests and all.

Balanced Magic
Overhauls the influence of skill-level, the magic perks and some spells for a more balanced magic experience. Relatively low-key though.

PISE - Improved Skyrim Experience
Improvements to AI (smarter, use more spells and potions), scaling (broader variance and higher minimum level for encounter zones) and lots of other stuff (like dragons, sneaking,...).

Deadly Dragons
Makes them really dangerous and deadly...

4. Other interesting stuff
Warzones - Civil Unrest
Wonder where the civil war is supposed to be everyone is talking about? No longer!

Live another life
Fed up with Helgen? Start the game somewhere else, several different options to choose from.

SkyBoost
Thanks to patch 1.4 and the optimization it finally brought, it seemed we wouldn't need it anymore. Still, the guy behind it was able to squeeze a few more fps out of the game.
At the time of writing it's still a very early version, though.

I strongly recommend 'Zombie Apocalypse' with a new game. Turns the game into a post-apocalyptic nightmare. Bring your 2h warhammer and let the skull smashing begin! Even inside the cities isn't safe!
