Are there any HD textures out for Dragonborn DLC yet?
Bethesda updated the high res texture pack for dlcs a few days ago.

Thats not a good move around here escom.

anyway, can anybody confirm that the old Skyboost fix isnt necessary anymore?
I see there is only a very old version available. Did they include that in some patch or other?

Thanks escom ! But as WhiskeyWolf said, I don't want you to get into trouble for helping me - rather remove the link. ;)

hiver, SkyBoost is obsolete since patch 1.6 or such, iirc.
Bethesda finally turned the optimization flags on in their compilers and since then performance is much better.

Although the guy behind it tried to squeeze some more fps out, I think he eventually stopped working on it.

too slow.
The official high resolution pack is free. But ok.
free for legit owners of the game, not so much the general public. not to mention that we don't have rules against posting links to illegal content but against promotion of piracy in general and your post clearly fell under that one. plus you got reported, which is kinda the biggest factor here.

Well, i just saw "published by bethesda" and the PB link. So i gave an advice.
Wasnt me that reported it.

escom probably didnt log in for a while, so...all things considered maybe that change in his post is a bit too harsh?

better now? deleted his warning for piracy promotion too, since surf solar is much more deserving of that...

 -

Yeah, SurfSolar deserves all the guilt for all bad things on the codex. And in the world too.

A few days ago a new version of the Enhanced Character Editor did come out.

Click here to go to its Skyrim Shot's page. As the site is in Japanese you can also click here to download it without the need to guess what link is the proper one. The mod is in Japanese but there is an English readme that does explain what optional file to copy to translate it into English.

As all advanced Skyrim mods it does require the SKSE. You can download it from here. SKSE does require the matching patch to be installed. It is also very hard to run on a pirate copy of Skyrim. Yet if you can run mods on it you can probably run SKSE as long as you have the matching patch.

This version of the ECE is extremely good. It does add dozens of options and sliders to the Character Editor. With this and a few good mods you can easily create actually beautiful people. You do still need pretty textures for face/skin/lips/eyes/etc and a few hair mods as it does only manipulate the morphing of the face. The optional 'elven' ears you can add to all characters are kind of ugly but I do believe it is pretty easy to add custom ear meshes (like Numenume or Nouserheres) by means of the Creator to any custom race you do download or create, and given you do need to run a custom race to use the Player Character Exclusive Animation Path there is no excuse not to at least duplicate and customize one of the vanilla races to suit your tastes. That way you can also pick your starting boni, spells, and special abilities to suit your gameplay-ish or LARPing needs so there you go.

Since we are at it...

Go there for the Player Character Exclusive Animation Path. It is a bit of a bother to install it the first time as you do need NFIS to run it but I do believe it is worth it if you do care about aesthetics. It does basically change the path of all vanilla races animations to a custom one so that any new animations (walking animations, combat animations, idle animations, etc) you download do only affect the player character (and maybe custom companions that do not belong to vanilla races too, I do not know). This is pretty useful if you do not want all the Nord, Orc, and Redguard girls walking around like supermodels, standing around in a manner most adorable, and striking Korean MMO poses when in combat.

Because of hate towards FP?

@ Shadenuat: Because I am personally more interested in making characters as close to me as possible, stylizing them, playing dress up, taking cool screenshots, and modding than in the game itself. And because I do play the game with an extremely feeble and fragile custom race of my own that does get easily one-shotted in Master (and more so with difficulty mods) and does depend entirely on control spells and supporting her pets/summons/(non-essential) followers to kill stuffies. 1st person would be stupid as it would reduce my field of view and make it harder to keep tabs on friends and foes alike.

@ hiver: I will tell you as soon as I do try it. :) I did have weird stuff happen to me when I did try to install a skeleton so I do have to check every mod I am running for incompatibilities so I can turn those off before I do try again.

nd does depend entirely on control spells
I'm not even sure how do you target enemies with Calm, Frenzy or Paralyze in 3d person, not to mention pulling chains, levers and finding quest it--

playing dress up, taking cool screenshots
