Tilemancer is a quick procedural tile creator designed for pixel-art games. Perfect for game jams, prototypes, texture mods, and more.

You can design tiles using a node-based approach in which a heightmap is created and later shaded by the program.

The program features a collection of noise generators, filters and presets, giving you freedom and speed when creating your own tiles.

All nodes and presets are programmed in Lua, letting you create and modify effects.

The same ops are available in Werkkzeug, which makes this program almost pointless. Why do I get the feeling this guy just ported the stuff?

Anyhoo, just get this and you'll be fine:

Well, those are a bit older examples.. and they are meant to be "character portrait sized"..
..and it is a work in progress..
But if you do not like it, you do not like it..
I personally think it will be a good software once it is done.

I guess it is okay to mention "Portrait Wizard" here..
It is a software for making character portraits, currently on Steam Greenlight.

..waiting for the lynchmob to arrive..

It is a neat idea - I thought of using a similar technique to make procedural portraits for my game, and also potentially making a standalone tool like this. Not fond of this art style, but the technology looks good. They all seem to be shrugging though...

I have a project in my head that really needs this. Can it be API ed to procedural generate ppl?
Well, no.. right now you have to do them yourself.. I might make a random generator button at some point, if I have time.

Please do, that would be great for any character who is an intractable (innkeeper, store clerk, etc) that isn't important enough to mandate the amount of time it would take to make the portrait by hand.
