Indie RPG pricing

Indie "niche" RPGs should be priced

  • High. There's little demand but the demand is motivated. >$20

    Votes: 23 16.2%

  • Above average. Don't be too elitist, you'll miss out on reasonably interested folks. $15-20

    Votes: 59 41.5%

  • Just below average. Compete with price, but not too hard. $10-15.

    Votes: 58 40.8%

  • Low. Indie RPGs aren't worth more than $10.

    Votes: 12 8.5%

  • Aggressive. Go for the impulse buy. People will buy anything for <$5.

    Votes: 9 6.3%

I'll write something about the global pricing experience. The two sales will be complementary due to different durations and other factors. I'd rather take my time and hopefully not post something stupid :)

I really never got to anything conclusive. I got a big burst in sales, traffic died down eventually and now just the occasional new player. But would it have gone better or worse had I done it another way? I honestly have no idea. Even taking my time I probably would've posted something stupid, like announcing I'd post something in the first place :lol:
