Yeah, my join date is recent and yet I remember the Dex "closing" sometime at the end of 2011. I also remember SuicideBunny's passing, I didn't know him or even engage with him, but he was a fellow Vistula tribesman so it got to me a bit. I've been visiting the Dex probably from around its inception. Sure, most of my impressions are not as deep as they would be if I had been a member, most users were an amorphous blob spewing opinions and game info, but I still have many memories from simply lurking. I'd like to emphasise that this is my first account, I've never been banned, I didn't forget I had one. I'm just that weird guy in front of the bar looking in through the window and watching people have fun (or beat each other senseless with bar stools). One day I just decided to step in.

Is the Codex a good place to be?

Edit: as for forums dying (not just the Codex) - you have to be on a smartphone, because everybody is using that to communicate nowadays. Only you can't really have deep conversations on the phone and the Codex is simply not formatted well for that (unless there is some app for that. I wouldn't know, because my old phone doesn't have enough memory to download any new apps and I don't really need to post when I am not at home, and then my PC is always the better option for posting anyway).
