Started a random 1950 to 1970 campaign as IDF against Syria, Egypt and Jordan. It's fun as all hell. You've got a very mixed, but high-morale force; the enemies have better equipment but worse training; your gear is either straight from WW2 or makeshift and orky, and there are hilarious names for it like "Davidka" (a crappy shrapnel-shell mortar) and "BeZe "(a vz.37 HMG).
I'm on battle 3 now, a delay vs. Jordan in a hilly desert; last one was an assault on a Syrian-held patch of woods, where their infantry ambushed a lot of my double-AAMG halftracks bought for support as cannon fodder, but my core Cromwells and snipers with self-propelled and off-map secured objective 1, then proceeded south to objective 2 where three pretty good Churchills were waiting. They blew up some shit, and there was no time to bring up my 17-pounders, but I called a Mustang airstrike and it killed two, the last one was circled around and blown up at a crossroads in the wood. Felt real Jewish and cool.
Anyone in the mood for PBEM btw?
