The old design had a small button next to each thread title, and clicking on it took you to the first unread post in that thread.

With the new design, you have to go INTO the thread and THEN click on the "New Post" button, forcing you to make two clicks and unnecessary data loading for something that took a single click before. :decline:

Stop whining, grognard. This is a better design with some minor errors that may or may not be fixed over the course of this decade, and you WILL like it.

Click on the thread title. If it's unread, then it's going to get you to the first unread post anyway. And you can know which threads contain unread posts by the title being bold.

Yeah, that's how it used to work, and it still does.

Did you never notice that, Arrowgrab?

I just tried it with several threads which I've been to in the past, and the feature doesn't work reliably. Sometimes it jumps to the first unread post, and sometimes it jumps to the first post of the first page. Not sure, but it might be like Ol' Willy said, and it depends on how recent the activity is. Which sucks, there should be button that's hard-coded to ALWAYS jump to the first unread post, regardless of circumstances.

Oh, right, you mean when you haven't visited the thread in a while. Yes, in that case it will default to the first post, that's true.
Although it's usually not a big issue, since by definition it's not a thread you've been following recently, so it's easy to catch up looking at the date.
