whatever. i'll just say this: my impression is that i'm going to buy this game because it's like diablo on crack and the guy who thought it was like pokemon is wrong and he's probably in the process of finding that out right about now if he's continued to play for more than 2 levels.

So has anyone got a worthwhile opinion about it yet?

No real customization, there's dozens of premade spore so there's no sense of building something from the ground up, you can change like 5 things on them and the paintjob. No hunting darkspore with a codex multiheaded dick. There's no real leveling, the spore's level is determined by the level of the weapon and other stuff you stick on them, so there's not much sense of progression that way either.

And no mention of the somewhat intelligent use of theoretical physics in the game story. i think this is quite newsworthy given the last decade of dumbing down in games.

I've played it a month ago or so.

It sucks.

It looks like some quest-oriented MMO game where you run through linear corridors with other players or in SP killing not numerous enemies (even during the end-level rushes) and getting rare loot. The game even keeps everything on the server like MMO. So if your ping jumps for whatever reason you also get lag in-game, even in SP

I'd rather play Diablo 2
or DDO if I wanted proper MMO

with that said i've gotten bored with the game now. turns out the difficulty i got was because i didn't take the best gear to the heroes i was using but rather had it spread out. now you just click, kill and pick up loot and it reminds me a lot of pokemon.
