Glorious update :hero:

Voting 1A 'cause it only makes sense to continue on the path we've chosen. We're still alive and uncorrupted, which is an achievement by codexian standards :)

1A.

I didn't. that's the point ^.^

yes, there's a forlorn hope company.

Be aware that voting for 1 most likely means that commanding the forlorn hope mutant company will be our new post. Personally, I think that sounds like a lot of fun, but if dying in bed at age 90 is a goal, you should go with 2.

Voting A in part because the Magos Biologus was sounding decidedly heretical in the prologue. While betraying the radical but loyal inquisitor to a dark mechanicus would be a glorious way to fuck up, the novelty of doing sort of well hasn't worn off for me yet. Also, witchesbane or no, I'm not feeling too positive about our odds of pulling the wool over the telepathic inquisitor's eyes.

Commanding a unit or no, we're still pretty low on the food chain, so I doubt we'll ever have the luxury of a quiet death, and at the very least it looks like we'll no longer have to worry about the Inquisitor being able to leisurely read our mind.

The =I= might be a radical and a complete asshole to boot, but I don't think he's a heretic. Even if he was, the political game is something we're not cut out for and probably will end up with us biting off more than we can chew.

root: Will our nifty new bionic arm enhance our character's physical strength or is it just a shiny metal replacement?

Yes but there's a difference in survivability between leading a standard company and leading the company whose purpose is to die being the first ones over the wall. But if we die that day, we die in gloreh, we die heroes' deffs! I guess!

As for mind-reading, I don't know; we seem to be able to resist some of his psyker tricks when we're prepared for him, but that doesn't mean our thoughts are going to be safe throughout the course of our convalescence.

This business turned out pretty well for us. We've got a new bionic arm, a half-dozen men of undying loyalty, and an (untrue) reputation of having overcome the taint on this planet and remaining pure among the Steel Legion. However, now that we're on to the next part of the saga, I have to ask: what are some glorious ways that this could have fucked up horribly? If we had done this the Codexian Way (tm) what hilarious and highly embarrassing fate would have awaited us?

Much as I'd like to gouge out =I=s eyes and skullfuck him, we achieved what we set out to do. The LG knows the =I= was exposed to the contamination and is probably gonna go "lol, Chaos!" at some point. There's nothing to be gained by pressing this and we still have a planet that needs to taste the cleansing flames of our Redemption.

1A Surprised at how resistant we are to his powers we could have taken these turds without much losses the mechs only want to see the planet cleanse despite any losses we occur if tainted =I= can win us the war easier then its our DUTY to make sure we use the taint to our advantage then remove him once he is useless

Rootbro, was there a way for us to get a higher rank than Captain? Just curious.

Rootbro, a character list would also be bro. I still don't quite understand what Schaefer can do. I know he's a medic, and a cqc specialist, but what else? And how 'bout an interlude like the ones you've been doing in your last LP. Those were rather good and enjoyable.

He is a boxer, a field medic, a sharpshooter, a psychologist, an officer, a man of many manly professions...

He is...

I hardly think so, seeing how the next one would be Major, which would already put is second in line to leading a whole regiment.

As for the vote, I'm going with 1B here. Properly outfitted our guys most likely won't hold up to the standard Guardsmen, but they will make up for it with zealous faith. As to why B, this whole friendlyness between the Inquisitor and the Lord General seems to be too... feigned. I understand what the Inquisitior did was 'necessary', but that doesn't make him any more trustworthy than before. We're now in a responsible situation because we're not at the end of the food-chain anymore. As he assumes the worst of the men, so do we, if only to protect ourselves, the men we lead into battle and most of all the Imperium. Also, snuggling up to the Magos Biologis surely has its advantages, not the least of which would be more inside knowledge about what it is we're facing and how to beat it.
