PART SIX - RACISM IS A CRIME

So! Before venturing forth, let's finish our bussiness with the celts:

This guy stands just above the druids' home.
main_172.jpg

main_173.jpg

We can offer him a music crystal, and in return we gives us a cool throwing axe, an ideal weapon for Sira.

We return to Mr. Impotent:

main_001.jpg

main_002.jpg

LITTLE ERRAND?! YOU DUMBFUCK-

We meet the sailor.
main_003.jpg

main_004.jpg

tomm.jpg
We already have the gold and the permission! The voyage can begin.

Let's roll!

main_005.jpg

main_006.jpg

main_007.jpg

main_008.jpg

tomm.jpg
Well, that's over with. Let's take a look at the city.

This chapter is strange. We should be searching for Toronto, yet Tom won't ask about it a single time. The quest here is also not really clear in the beggining, and is very tricky to boot. For now, let's look around this town.

main_009.jpg

main_010-1.jpg

An armory.

main_011.jpg

Someone's home. No significance.

main_012.jpg

main_013.jpg

Weaponsmith.

main_014.jpg

In another house, we find Siobhan, our new party member.

main_015.jpg

Straight to the point. I like this girl.

main_016.jpg

Her character page. As a warrior, she can wear the heaviest armors and has a +4 bonus to damage. She probably won't deal as much damage as Drirr (I don't know when she will gain additional attacks), but fully equipped, she'll be a much better tank.
There's a cellar in her house.

main_017.jpg

main_018.jpg

With a fuckton of Warniaks inside (Rainer got mad :( )

main_019.jpg

Oh shit.

main_021.jpg

Oh shit [2] - this time Siobhan and Mellthas are insane too.

main_022.jpg

Somehow we manage to defeat the bastards.

main_023.jpg

tomm.jpg
I believe the bar is inside.

The inn. We'll rent a room. Let's talk to some locals first.

main_024.jpg

main_025.jpg

main_026.jpg

Healer, at last. Insane characters were driving me mad.

Finally, let's meet the Council.
main_027.jpg

main_028.jpg

main_029.jpg

main_030.jpg

Here's Gard.

main_031.jpg

main_032.jpg

Perron, he's giving us a hint here.

And the council president, Herron:
main_033.jpg

herras.jpg
There is a little village by the name of Kounos on this mountain range. On the north side there is a small Iskai village called Srimalinar. Near there is a holy shrine, but there have been rumors recently that horrible creatures have been seen there. Now then, I wish you all the best for your journey. And come by again!

Last step, we're going to the brothel. Guess who's here.

main_034.jpg

Yes, it's Khunag, our almost-party member.

main_035.jpg

main_036.jpg

main_037.jpg

The plot thickens!
We can't do anything about it yet, so let's find those other two villages.

main_038.jpg

main_039.jpg

Krondir 2 - first contact. Tough bastard, but quite slow and not as heavy-hitting as Animals.

main_040.jpg

First things first - we explore the southern part.

main_041.jpg

main_042.jpg

OH FUCK.

main_043.jpg

main_044.jpg

Finally, we turn north.

main_045.jpg

main_046.jpg

main_047.jpg

There's a dungeon exit there, we will explore it sometime later.

main_048.jpg

main_049.jpg

Kounos.

In one of the huts, we find a friend of our dear druid:

main_050.jpg

Mellthas's face shows joy as he eagerly begins to write on his note paper.

melt.jpg
Have you brought your friends with you? That's wonderful, you're all welcome in my home.
It's great of you to drop in. Of course, I'm not in the best moods at the present time. Kontos' last speech has really made me think. It's not that I doubt his intelligence, but sometimes he's just too radical for me.

main_051.jpg

It's mediate, not meditate, but whatever.

Now's the time to find this Kontos fellow.
main_052.jpg

main_053.jpg

tomm.jpg
Step aside, moron! :smug:

Fight! He's quite a tough foe, with about 300hp, some spells and big damage. But with Sira's Thorn snare spell, which immobilizes him for, I don't know, 10 turns, he's raped horribly.
However, it is possible to make him let us pass through dialog.

main_054.jpg

Some cool stuff for Siobhan.

We descend the stairs here.

main_055.jpg

Dark again!

main_056.jpg

main_057.jpg

main_058.jpg

Behind the right door, we find Kontos himself.

main_059.jpg

main_060.jpg

Blah blah.

main_061.jpg

main_062.jpg

main_063.jpg

A new opponent, the Rinrii. It's very fast and deals high damage, but kill one and the rest run away. XP gained is horribly low though.

main_063.jpg

We can change the walls' colors, but we don't know the right combination yet.

main_065.jpg

In another chamber, we find this!

main_066.jpg

Level 2.

main_067.jpg

Standard lever fare.

main_068.jpg

The western part first.

main_069.jpg

We find a map for the earlier wall puzzle.

main_070.jpg

main_071.jpg

main_072.jpg

For fuck sake, its a damn maze.

main_073.jpg

More new creatures - the lizards are the Kizz, not really powerful, fast or tough, but with high magic resistance. The second are called Brogg, those are dangerous for our mages - they can throw stones and deal quite a bit of damage.

main_074.jpg

A clue!

In the south-eastern part, we come across another puzzle:
main_075.jpg

main_076.jpg

main_077.jpg

The point is to shoot those fireballs with a lever so the wall moves to the same row as the passage we want to open, and then shoot from the lever near where we entered. And yes, it does sound illegible.

main_078.jpg

main_079.jpg

But the rewards are cool - a collar for Mellthas, increasing his HP, mana and luck!

main_080.jpg

And a protection amulet, we have those already.

main_081.jpg

And, most importantly, a speed amulet for Sira - she'll now be able to cast avalanche before 90% of enemies.

main_082.jpg

A big room with traps, but without anything useful.

We backtrack to Kontos.
main_083.jpg

We show him the document part, but he just laughes. :(

Time to go to Srimalinar.

main_084.jpg

main_085.jpg

main_086.jpg

main_087.jpg

Let's go the inn, the one time it'll be useful:

main_088.jpg

main_089.jpg

main_090.jpg

main_091.jpg

Our suspicions are confirmed!
Let's see what this Arrim has to say:

main_092.jpg

main_093.jpg

main_094.jpg

And here's the tricky part. Talking with Darios triggers the assassination. What we have to do is warn Herron first - this way the assassination attempt will be a failure and we'll get a reward. So we go back all the way...

main_095.jpg

main_096.jpg

main_097.jpg

main_098.jpg

We ask him about 'assassination' (tricky, it won't show, we have to type it ourselves)

main_099.jpg

main_100.jpg

main_101.jpg

Done. Now we can go to Darios.

main_102.jpg

Oh, and while we are here, we can meet a trainer. He only shows for an hour and he's the only one that can teach us Critical Strike.

main_103.jpg

main_104.jpg

Siobhan! I almost didn't recognize you after all these years. You've become a real woman! I'm very happy that you're visiting again!

Problem is one point of CS costs 950 gold! We can afford only two points for Drirr for now.

We go to Srimalinar:

main_105.jpg

and to Beloveno again:

main_106.jpg

main_107.jpg

main_108.jpg

That's a nice reward :smug:

Now we go YET AGAIN to Srimalinar:

main_109.jpg

We ask him about 'evidence' and get the second part of the document. Now we can combine both parts...

main_110.jpg

Success! We are headed for the Iskai shrine now.

main_111.jpg

main_112.jpg

main_113.jpg

kontos.jpg
Don't believe him! Don't fall into the trap! This is really a very simple trick. They are trying to mislead you. The document is a falsification!

fasiir.jpg
If even half the document matches the part that Edjirr has kept, then it is genuine. Please, may I see the document at once?

kontos.jpg
Listen to me! What I am saying is true! I will proove to you that this place is full of horror and terror! I will enter the shrine and return with proof once and for all.

fasiir.jpg
If you desecrate our shrine we will take revenge!

kontos.jpg
Bah - shrine - empty words!

main_114.jpg

main_115.jpg

main_116.jpg

main_117.jpg

main_118.jpg

main_119.jpg

We enter the shrine, which doesn't really look like one:

main_120.jpg

Kontos isn't there, we get out

main_121.jpg

main_122.jpg

It's thorn snare time again.

main_123.jpg

Mission accomplished.
Let's go to Beloveno's inn and rest.

main_124.jpg

frill.jpg
Dsarii-ma! I am so glad I finally found you!

tomm.jpg
Dsarii-ma, Frill! What a surprise to see you again! Why are you looking for us?

frill.jpg
I would like you to come with me to a place where some people are interested in talking with you. I cannot say more until we are there.

tomm.jpg
It sounds very secretive, honorable Frill. But we'll be glad to do it if this will help us get closer to our goal.

frill.jpg
Oh, I can guarantee it!

main_125.jpg

frill.jpg
I completely and entirely agree with you. You must try to prevent the worst! The last thing we need is a war between our races. I will wait here at the inn until you have tried your best. Good luck!

frill.jpg
Dsarii-ma, friends. What's the situation between the Mahinos and Iskai?

tomm.jpg
Good news, the inhabitants of Kounos now understand that they were misled by Kontos. They didn't like it at all when they had to admit that they had been fooled like little children. In any case, we belive that the tribes can start to rebuild a healthy relationship.

frill.jpg
That is good news! Now nothing stands in the way of a small journey by sea. Shall we leave immediately?

tomm.jpg
Yes, why not?

frill.jpg
Good, then please follow me.

main_126.jpg

tomm.jpg
I understand. Now I wish you and Mellthas a beautiful time in Srimalinar. We'll certainly see each other soon.
Best wishes!

Man, I remember playing this when I was a tiny little brat and I never got past the first combat sequence. Glad to finally see this through. Great LP.

You know I'm not following faithfully this LP because I promised myself I'll finish Albion one day, but from the various sneak-peaks, I must say you're doing a great job.

So, what happens if you allow the president to die? You fail the quest and you're forced to murder everyone that does not side with you?

Look who's here!

nemos.jpg
Welcome, Tom Driscoll, and your companions.

tomm.jpg
Togi Din, Nemos. Wonderful to see you again, even if, I must confess, the circumstances surprise me a little.

nemos.jpg
That is understandable., We have a lot to tell you.

nemos.jpg
Just as you, Tom Driscoll, have much to tell us.
Now, please follow me into the house. We can exchange a lot of information there.

main_134.jpg

main_135.jpg

main_136.jpg

nemos.jpg
Sebai-Dre Birrh, a master of healing.

main_137.jpg

nemos.jpg
Irkith, scholar of sagas and stories from olden times.

main_138.jpg

nemos.jpg
And, finally, Harriet, our youngest member. She hears the voice of Animebona.

main_139.jpg

nemos.jpg
They share the knowledge of the power which made the human beings' voyage here possible. It is also the source of the magic on this world. They, and we as their heirs, know of the existence of Animebona, the Entity of this World.

rainer.jpg
Please continue. What's the significance of Animebona?

drannagh.jpg
Animebona is the sum of all life on this wolrd, and yet she has her own mind and goals. Traces of her essence are found in many religions on Albion, be it the Goddess of the Iskai or the Danu of the humans.
It was she who spoke with Cantos and led the humans here through the Land of the Fog.

nemos.jpg
Excuse me, but there will be time enough later for you to satisfy you thirst for knowledge, Honored Rainer.
For now, you only need to know that with the knowledge of this world we also have assumed a certain responsibility. Since Frill announced your arrival in Jirinaar to our group, we have observed you and conducted inquiries.

tomm.jpg
You know where the Toronto, our great spaceship, is located?

nemos.jpg
We do, indeed, know where the gigantic metal object has landed, Tom Driscoll, and even though it has landed in the Great Desert, it concerns us.
The ship is the embodiment of all reasons why Cantos led his people from Animenkna uncounted years ago. Now the Helromier have caught up with us, or at least it seems so.

tomm.jpg
I don't completely understand what you mean, Nemos. Haven't the inhabitants of Albion discovered the Toronto yet?

nemos.jpg
According to our knowledge, no. But we are not all-knowing, Tom Driscoll.
Up to now, your actions have proven you to be a trustworthy man. Therefore, we would like you to establish contact between our people and yours. We would like to know the goals of the Helromier on our world.

tomm.jpg
Gladly. By now a research station should be set up. I am sure my people will want to document everything and they will also pose a huge number of questions. A group of best scholars of this world is, naturally, an ideal information source.
Would you be so kind as to help us continue our journey to the Toronto's landing place?

main_141.jpg

nemos.jpg
The caves of the Goddess allow fast transportation, just as when Animebona brought Canto and his people here.

rainer.jpg
It's getting to the point where nothing surprises me anymore.

tomm.jpg
Patience, Rainer. Nemos, we gladly accept your offer.
Harriet, welcome to our little group.

harriet.jpg
It will certainly be an interesting trip, Tom Driscoll.

nemos.jpg
Although we intend to make contact with the Helromier soon, we must still make time for some reflection and discussion.

rainer.jpg
I would like that very much! I would like to learn some more!

main_142.jpg

Freemasons, all of them. Well, we need all the help we can get, even if it means dealing with magic masons. And Harriet is pretty useful.

main_167.jpg

Speaking of whom, here are her stats. She's probably the most worthless combat-wise, even more so than Rainer and Khunag. Her spells unfortunately aren't very good either, it's mostly healing, and we have enough of this already. However, when she'll get to 22? level, she'll learn Wrath of the Goddess, the single most devastating spell in the game. Shortly said, after some practice it kills all enemies at once. Yep, simple as that. Moreover, only she has the access to teleportation chambers, which enable us to travel between islands at a whim. (disregard the lack of Rainer on the pic. It was taken later)
Anyway, while we're here, we can learn more on the backstory.

main_148.jpg

We ask him about,
Animebona:
main_149.jpg

Animenkna:
main_151.jpg

Enlighted Ones:
main_150.jpg

Helromier (that's us!)
main_152.jpg

Aristotle
main_158.jpg

Homer
main_153.jpg

Ulysses
main_154.jpg

Celts
main_155.jpg

Saethar (try to say it aloud and you'll know who he is)
main_156.jpg

Broto (hm, a mystery!)
main_157.jpg

and Bothrig (this one's really botched, I think)
main_159.jpg

I must say the developers did their work very well. The concept is really interesting and not that far-fetched.

A few more things before venturing forth. Bald guy can teach Harriet spells and recharge items (for a price)
main_161.jpg

And a lady a bit south sells scrolls
main_162.jpg

There are also so-called flowers of the goddess outside, which can increase our attributes, but it's boring and tiresome, so I decided to skip it.
Let's go!

main_163.jpg

main_164.jpg

Seriously Rainer, no problem! You were useless anyway.

tomm.jpg
We've really been through a lot together, Rainer, and I will miss your companionship. I should have known that you will find it hard to leave these scholars behind. Too many colleagues here, hmm?
I wish you all the best. We will see each other soon. I'll come back with the first contact team.

rainer.jpg
I'm crossing my fingers for you, Tom. See you soon!

main_165.jpg

main_166.jpg

tomm.jpg
I... I'm speechless.
What an experience!

harriet.jpg
Shouldn't we try to reach your metal ship as fast as possible, Tom Driscoll? Then this isn't the correct cave.
We must choose the cave of the hot country.

tomm.jpg
We'll go there as soon as possible, Harriet. Have a little patience, please.

Shut up Harriet, we have quite a few things to do before that. First things first, let's get Sira and Mellthas back.

main_168.jpg

main_169.jpg

Thanks to our meta-gamey knowledge, we find a secret stash. You can find it the normal way by buying a map from an old drunkard at the inn.
main_170.jpg

main_171.jpg

Now it's time for the worst and most fatiguing dungeon in the game.
main_172.jpg

main_173.jpg

main_175.jpg

This dungeon consists of several levels, connected with holes. We can fall down or climb up using ropes. However, I seem to have misplaced mine. Gotta go back and buy a new one.

main_174.jpg

A new specimen, these critters are mostly annoying, but the highest tier is quite dangerous. They ran after scoring a couple of kills against them.
Problem is the dungeon is really huge and a real maze. It's the only one where I can't be bothered and use a walkthrough. Trying to describe finishing it is pointless. It's all about falling down, climbing up, falling down, climbing up, falling down, climbing up, falling down, climbing up, fighting with molerats, falling down, climbing up, finding treasure, falling down and climbing up. So i'll just post some screens.

main_177.jpg

main_178.jpg

main_179.jpg

main_180.jpg

This here is a veeeery nice sword, in fact second best in the game. The shadowsword. It's cursed, drains constitution and 20 or 30 hitpoints. But still it's got 25 damage, bound spell and doesn't decrease accuracy, as most heavy weapons do. Drirr will be probably using it till the end of the game.

main_181.jpg

main_182.jpg

main_183.jpg

A fantastic helmet, +20 defense and +25 luck!

main_184.jpg

main_185.jpg

This plants heal wounds, we can harvest some of them.

main_186.jpg

Fire ring.
main_187.jpg

Second crystal axe.
main_188.jpg

main_189.jpg

At last! I hate this dungeon.

main_190.jpg

main_191.jpg

Now we're headed for Iskai, we've got lots of points to spend at the trainer. Later, it's time for the Sandniggers! Stay tuned!

Imagine this game released now: 2d/3d combo, difficult battles, rich world, WORDY as fuck. Publishers would really have to hype the furry aspect...

Nah, it would never be released, people (meaning retards) would complain that this game ripped off Pandora... I mean Avatard. By the way, is there some sort of "bad ending" where the protagonist says "fuck this shit" and purifies the planet of so many furries?

main_000.jpg

main_001.jpg

main_002.jpg

main_003.jpg

To the city then!
main_004.jpg

main_005.jpg

The blacksmith. The prices here are high as fuck, but Siobhan needs a good weapon.

main_006.jpg

The equipmentmakers guild. We'll see more of this later.

main_007.jpg

Tavern. Maybe someone knows something.

This lass is pretty well-informed.

main_008.jpg

We rest for the night.

Let's get inside!

main_035.jpg

A short, easy dungeon.

main_036.jpg

main_037.jpg

main_038.jpg

A fake exit (it leads to a middle of nowhere)

main_042.jpg

There's a chest behind those pillars.

main_039.jpg

Manipulating them doesn't work.
main_040.jpg

Nor our trusty pickaxe.

main_041.jpg

However, manipulating the chest itself is enough  .

main_043.jpg

We can get outside now.

main_044.jpg

main_045.jpg

tomm.jpg
Look! Back there flies a shuttle from the Toronto!

main_046.jpg

main_047.jpg

Some civilization at last

main_048.jpg

main_050.jpg

Fishy.

main_051.jpg

IT'S A TRAP! :x

main_052.jpg

a nice animation commences.

main_053.jpg

main_054.jpg

it's pretty big...
main_055.jpg

...well...
main_056.jpg

...pretty, pretty big...
main_057.jpg

...REALLY BIG...
main_059.jpg
\
... :retarded:

SO, WHAT HAPPENS NEXT? WILL TOM AT LAST FIND HIS SHUTTLE FOR GOOD? OR WILL HIS FRIENDS HAVE TO RESCUE HIS FROM THE CLUTCHES OF THE CAPITALIST PIGS?
WE'LL FIND OUT SOON!

Melthas really didn't seem to take well to the heat of the sand-nigger nation. Look at his portrait at the bottom of the screenshots.
What's up with Tom, he lost a good chunk of his health while flying near to the Toronto? Health he hadn't yet lost in the first few screenshots from the animated sequence? That must be some nasty gas.. :smug:

We should aim for the next page before the next big update, yes?
