Grab the Codex by the pussy
Surely a evil negromancer in disguise.

Clearly Rebel Knights. For the loot!

Since it is going so well... why not sidequest! After all there is no timer to save the world.

Our destination.

rom0912.jpg

rom0913.jpg

rom0914.jpg

The mission kickstarts with a mob of undead next to our position.

rom0915.jpg

rom0916.jpg

And since we rush them without thinking, we're a bit overwhelmed fast

rom0917.jpg

And suffer casualties.

rom0918.jpg

Nothing a quick timewarp can't fix, and we approach the undead again in a strategically better way.

rom0919.jpg

rom0920.jpg

The necromancer and two zombie crossbowmen are swarmed by squirrels.

rom0921.jpg

The zombies are eaten fairly quickly

rom0922.jpg

But the animals can't penetrate the wizard's defences.

rom0923.jpg

Igles, however, can.

rom0924.jpg

No need to go for the objectives, so, as always, we explore the surrounding areas, and find these two level 2 trolls.

rom0925.jpg

They hit harder than I thought, though.

rom0926.jpg

And our party is forced to retreat, despite having two mages to heal.

rom0927.jpg

And that's why we'll use the good ol' hit'n'run guerilla warfare.

rom0928.jpg

Kingcomrad shoops fire arrows at the trolls, and hides among the trees where the monsters can't reach him 'cause they're too fat.

rom0929.jpg

One of them soon hits the dirt.

rom0930.jpg

And the other can be dispatched with the rest of the gang.

rom0932.jpg

Northward, we encounter more negrodancers.

rom0933.jpg

And their minions, of course.

rom0934.jpg

The mobs of zombies hit pretty hard, and we often need to do tactical retreats to heal up before engaging again.

rom0935.jpg

rom0936.jpg

Fireballs work well against archers, but they eat up a shitload of mana.

rom0937.jpg

rom0938.jpg

More undead ahead.

rom0939.jpg

And since the friggin negrodancer cast a cloud of shadows on our mages, they couldn't see (and heal) Igles...

rom0940.jpg

Doh.

rom0941.jpg

This time I know the location of the wizard, and Igles chops him up initially.

rom0942.jpg

rom0943.jpg

rom0944.jpg

rom0945.jpg

Oh, great. A fireball heading our way.

rom0946.jpg

... HOLY SHIT

This is a level 2 dragon. Say hello.

rom0947.jpg

Standard procedure. Igles takes the fireballs to the face, Dina heals, Kingcomrad shoots fire arrows.

rom0948.jpg

rom0949.jpg

rom0950.jpg

That went easier than I'd suspect. Also, the dragon dropped a truckload of gold.

rom0951.jpg

rom0952.jpg

It would appear we reached the knights' position. But no dialogue initiates... which means we either missed some mob of undead or encountered a gamebreaking bug. Yay!

Well, let's explore the rest of the map.

rom0953.jpg

Apart from a couple mobs of bone snakes, we find this ogre in the desert.

rom0954.jpg

Okay, two ogres.

rom0955.jpg

... THREE OGRES?!

rom0956.jpg

shit shit shit

rom0957.jpg

schlong.

Okay, this will require a different approach.

rom0958.jpg

Our mages will hide here among the trees, Igles will lure the ogres to the chokepoint, and we'll take em out one by one.

rom0959.jpg

So far so good.

rom0960.jpg

It's working!

rom0961.jpg

IT'S WORKING!!

rom0962.jpg

Ahahahahaha! @_@

rom0963.jpg

Well, what do you know. Another mob of undead + fancy-ass negrodancer.

rom0964.jpg

I didn't expect them to be there in the least, so they caught Dina a little off-guard...

This mob is actually kinda tough 'cause the necromancer is high-leveled, and the zombie mob is large.

rom0965.jpg

Charging the necromancer doesn't really work, since Igles gets violated by the zombies...

rom0968.jpg

Or he changes targets and bombards our backline

rom0969.jpg

After which Igles gets raepd again.

rom0970.jpg

But after, like, the tenth try, I noticed that...

the zombie mobs aren't linked.

/facepalm

rom0971.jpg

So we lure only a handful of them

rom0973.jpg

Kill the wizard.

rom0974.jpg

rom0975.jpg

And then take out the rest.

rom0976.jpg

Shit, another one.

rom0977.jpg

Honestly, I actually have no idea what happened here.

rom0978.jpg

Time to nuke the necro and crossbowmen.

rom0980.jpg

After a while, everything is dead.

Also, you can only imagine how borderline impossible all of this would be if we didn't have two mages to heal.

rom0981.jpg

rom0982.jpg

rom0983.jpg

rom0984.jpg

Yay!

rom0985.jpg

Selling all the junk.

rom0986.jpg

rom0987.jpg

And we buy Igles and KC some new gauntlets.

And since we're out of side quests, we need to choose our next course of actions: Desert Star (orc killing extravaganza) or the Ancient Woods (tree-hugging hippies).

The choice is yours.

Whichever one features the most things to kill.

(that's orcs. Unless you can kill the hippies, then hippies)

rom0988.jpg

Our current destination.

rom0989.jpg

rom0990.jpg

rom0991.jpg

rom0992.jpg

Igles is X-TREME.

rom0993.jpg

So, here we are. The dreaded desert. We're very likely to find our death here.

rom0994.jpg

The journey goes without any disturbances, but then... We're ambushed by a flight of bats!

rom0995.jpg

Repulsive creatures. I avoid them whenever I can.

rom0996.jpg

Level 2 spiders.

rom0997.jpg

A level 2 troll...

rom0998.jpg

FOUR LEVEL 2 TROLLS...

rom0999.jpg

FIVE MOTHERFUCKING LEVEL 2 TROLLS.

WHOA

WHOA!!

Fortunately, though, the passage is pretty narrow and they can only attack us one-by-one, which is pretty much lethal for them.

rom1000.jpg

And soon, they all hit the dirt.

rom1001.jpg

And we get epic loot.

rom1002.jpg

Well, no shit, sir Clueless. We've been near the swamp for like an hour now, and you've only noticed it just about now?

rom1003.jpg

During a routine fight with turtles, the mages are ambushed by...

rom1004.jpg

A goblin. Say hi.

rom1005.jpg

Of course, Dina decided to die. Don't ask me how, but apparently, the AI thought it's a great idea to stop healing itself while under attack.

rom1006.jpg

Proceeding, we meet a level 2 ogre. Not much of a challenge.

rom1007.jpg

During this fight with spiders, both our mages almost kicked it. The spiders were swarming from all directions, and Dina even fell to the ground with negative HP, but KC managed to heal her in time.

rom1008.jpg

A promising mountain pass.

rom1009.jpg

This looks familiar.

rom1010.jpg

rom1011.jpg

Damn greenskins.

rom1012.jpg

Some generic ghosts. A few steps behind them was a magic well...

rom1013.jpg

... that exploded with poison clouds when approached!

rom1014.jpg

Another level 2 ogre.

rom1015.jpg

Okay, two level 2 ogres.

rom1016.jpg

FOUR?!

rom1018.jpg

HOLY MOTHER OF BUTTFUCK, FIVE.

rom1019.jpg

Oooooookaaaaaaay. This will require a different approach.

rom1020.jpg

Not far from the ogres' position is the crash site. We'll try using the trees to our advantage.

rom1021.jpg

Mages will hide among them, while Igles lures in the ogres and takes em out one-by-one.

rom1022.jpg

And what do you know, it's working!

rom1023.jpg

Igles cuts through all of them eventually.

rom1024.jpg

Then, we meet this lovely undead horde.

rom1025.jpg

What the hell is this? The Desert of Horrible Monster Mobs?!

rom1026.jpg

Durrrrr.

rom1027.jpg

Another try...

rom1028.jpg

Doesn't really give any better results... The combined efforts of our mages can't outheal this mob.

Well, and this time, we're pretty much in the middle of nowhere, with almost no cover, so we'll have to improvise.

rom1029.jpg

We'll hide Igles among these trees, so not all skeletons can hit him at the same time, and position the healers as far as possible and pray no skeleton changes targets on them.

rom1030.jpg

Whoa, it actually works.

rom1031.jpg

This is one of the rare games where skeletons take no shit.

rom1032.jpg

Some art deco.

rom1033.jpg

At this point, we hear sounds of battle!

rom1034.jpg

Apparently, the creatures are fighting amongst themselves! Particularly, they don't like this archer dude.

rom1035.jpg

Shit. Guess we need to protect him.

rom1036.jpg

So, we rush in, and we automatically get everything's attention.

rom1037.jpg

This is a level 2 orc warrior. Level 1s are green, but I don't think they are even present in single player. The yellow goblins we've seen before are also level 2 - level 1s are kinda brownish.

rom1038.jpg

Level 2 orc archer.

rom1039.jpg

And level 2 shaman. Asshole uses magic shield that decreases damage dealt to him. Also shoots stone missiles and an occasional fireball.

The whole mob isn't really any challenge, and they die fast.

rom1040.jpg

orc.jpg
You saved me now, I thank-thank you, but it does not make-make much sense. The orcs want to kill-kill me!

Oh, great. A stuttering faggot. Drop it, if a scatman can do, so can you.

dina.jpg
Tell me, why do your kinsmen hate you so much?

orc.jpg
Huh, I not know. Name's Ginsush, I did not want-want to kill humans for nothing. Told all orcs that we can live in peace and Bugur-Shaman told the other way around. For that, Bugur-Shaman ordered to kill-kill me.

dina.jpg
Tell me, please, Ginsush... have you heard anything about the star the fell in your land? We are looking for it but can not find it.

orc.jpg
Everybody here heard-heard about it. Shaman Hosh-Yelooy found-found that star and told everyone that the Great Jackal has given him the Stone Eye, wrapped up in gold. This stone now hangs on Hosh-Yelooy's neck, and Yelooy-Shaman is now the boss in Brown Beetle Sands.

dina.jpg
An unpleasant name... Where are those sands? Can we get there?

orc.jpg
Sure you can get there. Not sure if you can get out-out of there. If you really need-need that, I show you the way. Then I not know where to go-go. Here, the orcs will kill me, in the plains soldiers will kill me, in the woods-woods the Druids will kill me.

dina.jpg
I don't think that the Druids will harm you at all. They wouldn't mind you staying, so long as you behave yourself. Try going to the woods, we may see you there later.

rom1051.jpg

Great. But before we go, we need to collect the lootz.

rom1052.jpg

Also, there was this goblin hiding among the trees. This is a goblin slinger. FACT: they are rather worthless.

rom1053.jpg

rom1054.jpg

Selling time!

rom1055.jpg

Buying time!

rom1056.jpg

Morphing time!

rom1057.jpg

Now Igles is the master of homo armour. And it'll only get worse.

rom1058.jpg

Some pointless banter in town.

rom1059.jpg

rom1060.jpg

rom1061.jpg

rom1062.jpg

rom1063.jpg

rom1064.jpg

rom1065.jpg

Our mercenaries leveled up.

rom1066.jpg

There's also this guy.

rom1067.jpg

He's a mage hireling. Pretty useful fellow, since he has prismatic spray (chain lightning, basically).

rom1068.jpg

There's also this fancy-ass old git.

rom1069.jpg

uncle.jpg
IGLES! You lazy bum! Are you still wasting your time and effort on senseless women and shady ventures?!

igles2.jpg
They aren't senseless, uncle. In fact, my new friends and I found...

uncle.jpg
It doesn't matter what you've found! This time I'm giving you a chance to distinguish yourself in real action. Orcs have started to raid our villages again! The peasants are desperate. A detachment is being sent to end the orcish raids, and I have ordered the commander to take you along. They can use another fighter for this battle.

rom1074.jpg

There's also this peasant girl.

girl.jpg
Hello, Dina! Do you remember me? I lived in Ushut when you were little. Your grandpa, the Astrologer, used to buy bread from my parents, and I often helped him carry it. We then moved to a town in the south of the Plains, and I have heard nothing about you since then. How are you doing? How is your grandpa?

dina.jpg
Some outlaws hired by the Necromancers guild have killed my grandpa. Now the members of the guild say they were scoundrels and renegades... not that it's a relief.

girl.jpg
Oh, I'm so sorry. I hope the thugs have been punished. Our town is in trouble too! Evil monsters have besieged us! There is no one to hold them off. The royal army seems to have more important tasks than helping a small village under attack. We hoped that our local female mage, Talena, would be able to help. It turns out that mages are not all that powerful. Talena actually had to abandon her tower and seek refuge in our town.

kc2.jpg
I suppose that she's not qualified to become a mage yet...

You tell her, KC.

girl.jpg
Oh, no no. She is a very nice person. It's just that she studied more about ancient tales and legends than battle magic. She can tell you astonishing things about the old times. It's too bad her tales can't help us now.

rom1084.jpg

And then, there's Igles.

dina.jpg
What's happened? What's making you so upset?

igles2.jpg
Oh Dina, I just learned some disappointing news. It was all my mistake, I should have listened to you when you tried to persuade me not to take that man through the Ancient Woods! He's actually a known felon, a gang chief. He was brought to Kaarg for trial, but managed to escape. If we hadn't taken him through the woods, he would have been caught again. But now, he has his gang back, and they're preparing to terrorize again!

kc2.jpg
Damn, I should be blamed as well! I must have lost my mind when I saw all that money!

igles2.jpg
One way or another, we must correct our mistake. Especially since we know where the outlaws' camp is located. We must have left that gangster not far from the camp.

So, in case you're dense and didn't notice, this is about the traveller guy we escorted through the woods before. Quality consequences, eh?

Anyway, here are our options:

rom1093.jpg

Punishing the outlaws for using us,

rom1094.jpg

Helping the village under attack and its mage,

rom1095.jpg

Following Igles's Uncle's orders,

rom1096.jpg

Main quest, hunting orcs for fallen stars.

And there's also the second main quest - the fallen star in the woods.

DISCUSS!!
