Ladies and gentlemen,

Star Stable Online, also known as Star Stable, SSO or SS, is a 3rd person MMORPG that is set on an island where everyone has a special relationship with the equine species.

After the 500 Mb download of crispy, bloomy landscapes and adorable ponies and little girls, we enter the world of
First, we get to choose our looks. Looks are important, so let's get this right:
Red hair, red eyes, red shirt... that should do.
Now we get to choose a name from a lengthy list of first and last name combinations:
Gun Crazyborn sounds warm and fuzzy... so we'll take it.
Oh, and now we can choose the look of the horse too and what make-up IT wears:
Do we go the prince... um... princess charming route? Or the Sauron stallion? Choices, choices. Yeah, what the hell...
Crazymadness - how is that for a name for our horse? Lovely.
Oh boy, oh boy... it's loading:

There is an inventory and skills and attributes...
Holy mother of god! It's an RPG!
Now there is a creepy dude talking to me late at night... standing way too close for comfort. What does he want?!
He is telling me some sob story about how he is being evicted so they can build condos on his land. I'm not making this up!
Then he gives me my first quest.:
Quest: "A New Friend"
The guy said I should take a ride... with my horse. Phew!
That was easy enough (Quest completed).
Quest: "Speak with the Stable Girl"
That wasn't that difficult either (Quest completed):
Quest: "Ride the Cavaletti"
Now I have to ride a simple track within a certain amount of time before they allow me to ride outside.
Done.
So, now we're outside and a blacksmith close to the stable gives us our next task.
Quest: "Tools of the trade"
We have to find a hammer, clincher and a mining pick and bring them to him.
Well, let's look around...
Got it:
Now we're supposed to meet a girl from the "Bobcats club". Great.
Quest: "Meet the Bobcats"
She has been waiting for us all day just outside the stable (Quest completed):
This girl turns out to be somewhat bitchy, but she invites us to try the easy Bobcats riding track.
Quest: "I'll show them"
Yep, we completed this race on time as well.
Now another girl suggest we try the Moorland riding track. OK.
Quest: "The Moorland Stables riding track"
Let's do it.
Finished:
And out horse has gone up a level. Awesome.
Quest: "Return to Justin"
Now we have to talk to that Justin dude again.
Easy.
He tells us we have more stuff to collect around the stable.
Quest: "Collect the tools"
Ok, got it.
Now we use the tools to take care of the horse.
Quest: "Get started with your duties"
You have to actually work in this game.
And the creepy guy keeps watching...
Okay, done. Now he sends us to talk to his papa...
Quest: "A word with Thomas"
OK, found him:
Dad gives us our next quest:
Quest: "Get them out by Friday"
We have to switch off the GPS equipment along the road without the workers noticing anything. This is to delay the destruction of the stable by the evil guy.
Alrighty. Been there, done that:
Now he suggest another sabotage mission. This guy is truly a great influence on girls:
Quest: "Lights out"
We have to switch off the electricity at the construction site of the evil guy.
Alright, let's go there:
Done.
Now we have to find the deed of the land at some Mrs. Holdsworth so they can keep the stable.
Quest: "The deed of the land"
Yep, we found her. But the deed is actually at his father's house not far from here.
In the meantime, a girl at the stables suggest to check out all the three stores there.
Quest: "A new shopper in town"
We're done.
Oh boy, the bitchy girl has gone missing and we're supposed to find her.
Quest: "What happened to Loretta?"
One of the workers tell us that there was a landslide and that she might be buried underneath it. Awesome!
And we go a level up!
Quest: "Get the bulldozer over here!"
The bad guy has a bulldozer and we're supposed to ask nicely if he can help:
Gee, there he is:
Quest: "Unpleasant task"
The bad guy wants us to do an "unpleasant task: first. No, not that. We're supposed to mark four trees which they will cut off to make space for condos:
Yep, we do whatever it takes:
Quest: "Give Tan an update"
The next task is to tell the girl at the stables what we have been up to.
There you go:
Quest: "Search mission continued"
Now that the bulldozer has removed the landslide, we're supposed to go there and look for Loretta.
Turns out she was just riding around...
She wants us to race back to the stables together.
Quest: "A friendly race"
Alright, we can do that:
Now back to the drama around finding the deed of the land...
Quest: "Papers of the past"
We have to find the owner's father and ask him to hand over the papers to us. I hope he doesn't want some unpleasant task...
Here he is:
But he is not giving out the papers (of course).
Quest: "Old Man Jasper"
We have to ask his grandson if he has an idea on how to get the old man to cooperate.
So, back to the creepy dude again:
He tells us to come back the next day while he thinks up a devious plan.
In the meantime, we are invited to check out the Bobcat girls' racetrack:
Quest: "The Wild Bobcat track"
Done.
Day 2
The plan is as devious as we thought: Show private love letters to the old man to prove that his son and his wive were truly n love. O-kay.
Quest: "Sealed with a kiss"
The old man's heart melts and he gives us the key to get the deed from a locker in a town nearby.
Quest: "To have an not"
Okay, let's get on our way:
Got it and brought back to the guy.
Quest: "The old legal documents for Thomas"
Now, be a nice delivery girl and bring the documents back to his son:
Here you go, Mister:
Quest: "Old fool"
The old man realizes that he was a fool and ask us to bring an amulet to his grandson. Awesome as always.
Here you go, dude.
Quest: "Welcome to the club!"
Now the bitchy girl welcomes us to her club and asks to tell this ano.
Which we do.
Now we have more serious business to do: mine for lumps of steel. Geez, this is truly a game for little girls.
Quest: "The riddle of steel"
Alrighty, let's to do this.
Done.
As a thank you, this guy will create some horse shoes for us. We're supposed to come back on the next day:
Day 3
Well, finally some sunshine in this godforsaken land...
Quest: "Afraid of ghosts?"
So, we're supposed to raid a tomb for some more steel.
Who could say no to that?
Now all we have left to do is feed our horse again, so it doesn't die.
And that's it, ladies and gentelmen!
No more quests:
