Hello Codex. After my prolonged absence from this thread, I will now grace thee with an update, which includes the last bit of grind and our first (mis(?)-)steps into the world of VARN.
4bGVIgc.png

We got a nice haul. We use this to...
dxHj8l9.png

Get me up a level. This unlocked the reason we've been grinding (namely, useful combat spells and Fly).
kpnBmM8.png

Now, there is nothing stopping us from completing a quest we recieved far earlier in this LP.
0bKZrvm.png

Having arroved at Erliquin, we can now find our target.
3kUR8Ii.png

First though, is a fight that may throw us out the window of a fifteen storey building.
SJCvrUV.png

Demons and Devils are definitely different beasts entirely.
cmLScSW.png

Cha-ching!
qDDTdFs.png

Not bad...
eafjze5.png

Our first stop is the local inn to save our progress.
eyry3Kb.png

Huh. Well, now to explain a mechanic for you.
In Might and Magic, each town has its own gimmick. This one's seems to be these barriers, along with some teleports that we'll encounter at a later date.
7fp4DQp.png

Kalin also reached Level 5.
HwaWzU2.png

But now, we can't afford anything in the store.
RyK9WSw.png

:takenotes:
FvfQ0oY.png

:taken- Wait a tick! That is the target of our delivery quest.
pNfuxvp.png

1000 XP for a life-threatening delivery, and then we're told to take it to his "protege" in Dusk, a presumably far more dangerous city? :decline:
A5NmlQ3.png

Well, I want to be done with this quest, soooo...
GNyxFkD.png

kLN91wb.png

Why, of course!
SLxlD0l.png

Let's save here, in case we encounter anything way too above our power.
4c2pISu.png

The inn tells us so much useful information.
xogHQio.png

:takenotes: Wonder what they mean by that?
VUK9Eu6.png

As if this ain't a hint...
TkWa4wl.png

This can't be what I think it is, right?
wpZY4Qv.png

There goes any buffs I may have cast.
SZXW07K.png

Oh...
I'm okay...
Just let me go over here and...

gIVTnQy.png

Well, this will still work I guess
3V0SILI.png

Oh.
FFgpPsi.png

Let's see who will last longer, these enemies, or mine and Grim's mana pools.
rP1oMQH.png

Not looking good for the mana pools.
2B7Z1UA.png

Well, at least he has a +1 weapon.
Let's leave this as a cliffhanger, for now...

Soooooo... about those caryatids at the end of the last update? We lost. I think. Maybe. I assume. I honestly don't have any screenshots of it so I'm not 100% sure.
All I know is that my next screenshot is from grinding:
L8MzeQM.png

BTW, Dinolizards can really fuck us up.

91XJvqY.png

This doesn't look like it could go wrong, right?

RUZ6Rhr.png

Well shit, that was easy.

TAplVWj.png

Nice loot as well

BwRKmWo.png

Time to fly like an eagle, to the sea.

aBdhsqd.png

Or actually to an icy castle. Oops, wrong coordinates.

w6Gw3rh.png

There we go

90ABGXj.png

Oh noo...

W0lk4ec.png

Oh noo...

4GEAT9f.png

At this point, it's a cake walk

JsUOT00.png

And the loot isn't terrible

yMGkYL7.png

Y'know, Sigourn was complaining about the graphics earlier. Fuck that, this looks nice.

coJstKm.png

Anyway, we head into Portsmith.

If you remember all those months (year?) ago, one of the tavernkeepers mentioned that men and Portsmith don't mix. Let's see what he meant by that

enYmBXS.png

:what: IT'S A FEMINAZI PARADISE!! HOLY SHIT RUN AWAY, ABORT MISSION!

mjHR7MQ.png

A bit later, I go down in a anti-magic zone. Not good

o1GULiB.png

Nice EXP tho

RYjW8cg.png

And cannot rest either...

HKGIVwV.png

We end up taking a trip to the local temple

nHA0K0q.png

And end up with just enough left over to get Crooked Bee to Level 6. Nice inkline on those HPs.

cOSXzBB.png

Oh yeah, there was this quest...

EJFp9EH.png

Somehow we made it past the Caryatids and shit due to CB's newfound combat prowess. That's actually a pretty good haulout when added to what we got before.

UQJXKWm.png

Uhh... waht...

You didn't really need to learn to fly to get to Erliquin. There's an NPC that transports you to any town in exchange for a gem. He's behind a secret passage close to the town gate in Sorpigal.
