ICW is certainly a necessity for getting through all the crabs in Efferd's temple. ICW, fire elemental summons and fireballs are the quickest way to do it.

ICW? I See Wiener?

Anyway, the crabs in Efferd's temple are no problem. They're a bit annoying when they stack on your mages, but proper use of shields fixes it. No exploits needed.

I had a lot more difficulty with the boss-fight at the bottom of the temple, which is probably the hardest fight in the game, and has that annoying boss+mobs build.

A maxed out Meek you be/Master of Animals spell (combined with high Charisma) makes the fight in Efferd temple much easier.

The Paralysis spell is also overpowered at high levels. You can simply turn all summoned trash to stone for several turns.
