WTF is going on? This is more than just SJW shit...

True, there is obviously some mismanagement SJWitis aside

- several tech support people each doing their own thing?
- plain retardation?
- the burning desire to go mainstream?
- money drove them insane?

Now that they are grown up and competing against whatever, they only want sexy new indies, not that retro looking stuff. Wizards and Warriors was probably one of the last ones in the pipeline.

Underworld Ascendant was rejected too, but I'm not sure you can draw conclusions from that one :)

This is what happens when you have a curated platform. Devs constantly bellyache about Steam not curating their games because they want that sweet, sweet free advertising. Reality flash: if Steam does for some reason revert back to greenlight/whatever, most of those devs will find out their shit Unity FPSes aren't good enough for Steam.

Let the market/players decide. Curation is a waste of time.

The people clamoring for more curation because the flood of hentai porn games make their unremarkable generic hipster indie trash less visible on Steam are the same kinds of people who are applying to HR jobs so they can fill companies with more of their own kind.

By "more curation" they essentially mean "I want the storefront to accept games like mine, made by people like me, but not all that other stuff that takes away visibility from me and my pals".
Which is what GoG currently seems to be doing, judging from their rejection of genuinely good games made by people who aren't part of the hipster indie clique or art movement, while accepting plenty of mediocre hipster indie shit.

I have no problem with gog not accepting every game that comes its way. I prefer curated platform over steam endless stream of shit. That said, gog does have a lot of shit games this days.

They should just do it like Steam did years ago:

Pay them $1000, and you're in. If you don't want to pay, then chances are high that your game is not worth it anyway.

Legends of Amberland and most importantly, the ultimate retro RPG Grimoire are now on GOG.
I read a post on the GOG forum saying that they have improved their rejection policies since 2019, is this true? Does that explain why they added Grimoire?

Isn't Hammer & Sickle locked out of modern systems courtesy of Starforce? Must be well beyond the GOG's ability to find a warez group crack make it run.

No, working versions can be found, no mad haxorz required. Like Lord_Potato says, the most likely explanation is that no one's tried to get it on there.

Oh man, I get shivers just thinking about Starforce. That fucking rootkit gave me tons of problems back then when Worms 4 Mayhem installed it on my PC.

I rejected GOG in early 2019. My only reason at the time: I was severely butthurt over how CDPR kept screwing over and ruining nearly everything good about my beloved standalone Gwent (RIP).

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Grab the Codex by the pussy RPG Wokedex Strap Yourselves In Codex Year of the Donut Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath I helped put crap in Monomyth
If someone had gone back and told me 10 years ago that in the future it would be easier to get niche indie RPGs onto Steam than other platforms, I'd have thought them insane.

People always used to bitch about Steam's strict curation and how open and friendly GOG was. Funny how things change.

That said GOG has changed a lot from their original mission statement of offering easy to play version of old games.

just look for a crack on gamecopyworld. also, my memory is hazy, but i think the starforce protection was patched out in a semi-official patch from the dev

Wasn't Hammer & Sickle very buggy mess? At least that's my memory of it.
