Come join jClassicRPG - it's like that exactly - no money and some years to complete (1 year of programming already done).. You just have to throw away your concept - and start modeling mythic monstaz! :P :D

Sounds like a cool story and a promising project. I wish you all the luck in the world. Unfortunately I am neither a programmer or someone with much time to spend on hobbies. I do like creating for video games though.
