Fear not! Any “Ultimate RPG” I would be attempting would be first and foremost a PC game (neither console, nor social media). It would be highly story driven as my original trilogy of trilogies. I would hope to also make it such that it can be played multiplayer as well as solo and offline.

For the record… I have been and remain a PC game developer! I have never been in charge of a game that was not first and foremost a PC game! Sometimes we have ported the games to a variety of other platforms, but the PC remains central to my core sensibilities.

I hope the SP/MP thing means it's mod friendly and the MP is presented like something in NWN. if it's anything like "HYE A FREND CAN JOIN YOUR CAMAPGING AT ANY TIEM WHEUHYYH" it'll be shit. But honestly I don't care too much anyway.

You know me. Social? Forget it. It looks like some shameless cash-grab, to milk that social gaming bubble. I have a heard time exactly understating wtf this is supposed to be in the first place.

I don't really care. Lord British is dead to me. Whoever made Ultima 7 and 7-2 can't have been the same person. We all change... and not always for the better. I want niche games, not games for many people... you know? Even when I play console games I am drawn to the unusual and the extraordinary.

Wait and see.

It'll have to be pretty awesome to catch my eye at this point... the Torment KS also needed to do well to get my approval, but damn if it didn't do a fantastic job. This one would have to try even harder. And that's not gonna happen.

I have zero expectations but I'm REALLY curious about it...God knows what goes in LB's head.

I agree, you can't really expect much of this, but he's an eccentric multi-millionaire who has done virtually nothing (besides sue a company and go to space) in the past 6 years. Maybe he spent them creating a new CRPG world and story with an asper-level attention to detail. But all signs over the past few years point to it being some sort of multiplayer/online/casual game. It will definitely be interesting to see what his idea of a good publisher-avoiding game idea is. Or hell, maybe it's not even a kickstarter.

I guess we'll find out for real in a few hours.

The graphic that leaked "Shroud of the Avatar: Forsaken Virtues" also had a Kickstarter logo on it.

I can't wait to find out what this is about. Pretty sure I'll be disappointed but maybe he'll surprise us. Maybe it'll be a Kickstarter for Spruce Goose II!

Somehow I think it's going to be an "ultimate" combinaton of all of the mentioned possibilities. Maybe it's a singleplayer RPG, highly story- (and exploration-)driven with Online marketplaces/big cities, maybe some instances and functions to be able to share special findings. Seems the most likely given LB's track record and love for online/social gaming.

Skara Brae didn't have an eastern part across the channel, though. Reminds me more of Montor West and Montor East.

can it really be Sosaria? i remember Montor East-West was on each side of a river/swamp, not on island/mainland area.
