It does feel like a mash of DDO and WoW. Plus, some of the stuff just doesn't look like it fits. I saw someone wearing a red hat, green boots, yellow gloves, and a blue shirt, once. All of those supersaturated and bright. Recchh. Still, I haven't had that much of a chance to play through much of it, so I'm sure it might be at least enjoyable.

That said, I did enjoy DDO quite a bit. But really, there just weren't enough players to do some of the harder quests with. But if you did manage to find a group and go questing, you'd have a ball. Plus, strangely enough, Fighters are the rarest class in DDO. Since I knew the D&D system well, I had a leg-up on most of the other players playing the game. I laughed out loud everytime I saw multi-class characters such as Barbarian/Sorcerer/Rogue or Paladin/Wizard/Cleric. BEST CLASS COMBINATION EVAR!!1 Really, DDO was one of the more unique MMO's, since it allowed multiclassing, which I've only ever seen in one other MMOG. It had quite some customization. I even made a finesse Fighter with a rapier. He looked kind of like a pirate. To this day, I still don't know a more customizable MMOG.

No point in playing an inferior rehash of a story I know all too well. Since I don't mind monthly fees if the game will keep me occupied for a considerable amount of time, I'm holding out for AoC and WOAoR. Depending on reviews, I'll most likely give both games a shot. I'll also be down with partying up with some willing Codexers.

According to Gamespy, on Lord of the Ring's Combat...

Combat is a familiar series of turn-based rounds punctuated by the player triggering a variety of special attacks and watching the cooldown meter on the interface.

The combat is less turn-based than Baldur's Gate's combat. Retarded Gamespy.
