A into D if Yao will tell us he was framed by Lingshu otherwise strait A
Yao always kill and heal person so who was saved?

Would be interesting if there were 2 people infected and one of them would be killed to compensate for other.
Could old man had some kind of plague or something like that so Yao decided that killing him is better?
The person who would benefit from death most is heir in this situation so B is bit dangerous, especially if they would use Cao to blackmail Yao to take blame i think he would fall for that.
I think asking Yao secretly and directly is the best course of action and act based on that information.

How would Yao be in the position to tell us that he was framed? I suspect, like you, that Yao had good reason to kill this man, but we should be careful and not figure that the heir was planning this all along. Oh, and he wasn't framed: there is no doubt that Yao killed this man. Yeah, you could be right that the heir here is just like Master Rong's son, but that might not be the case. It just might be someone angry and grief-stricken at the person that killed their father.

Didnt way that she did it i said that she would get most from his death so she has motive and possible explanation of situation. If we will get to him secretly no one will find out we were there by possible blackmailer and Yao should know most answers. I think that Cao had huge role in this situation dunno why.

I'm afraid I can't confirm this, but note that it is also theoretically possible to do A successfully and then not break Yao out (escape would be riskier having him and Cao'er along), instead leaving with possibly valuable information either from him or elsewhere in the compound you can use to negotiate more easily - it's not something limited to B alone. Or the situation might change during negotiation/sneaking/challenge/call for Emei's help and lock out the other choices.

Having a chance to do other choices should the current one fail is something you can't safely assume right now, so I think it'd be better not to.

But I won't restrict speculation either.
Oh sorry, I wasn't intending to make this a question for you, merely something to throw out to start speculation.

And speaking of speculation, I think that B still leaves us the most options open of all choices even if it doesn't work. Something could happen that would block even so, sure. But sneaking in right now and then leaving to try something else seems rather counterproductive. Yes, we could find something else there to help us - but what are the chance for that if we have no idea what we are even looking for? Just blindly stumbling through what sounds like a huge complex trying to find some clue or evidence to what we have no idea, all the time avoiding detection - I just don't see it happening. Now, once we learn what we should be looking for exactly (and preferably where), then sneaking in become an attractive choice, especially with our skill set.

Seeing how things have gone so far, there was a possibility that the speculation would have suddenly blown up into a three page "YES YOU CAN" "NO YOU CAN'T" discussion before someone tags me and asks me if it's possible. So I'm just throwing out my stand on the issue first to save time.

Hey treave, how old is Song Lingshu anyways? It's occurred to me that the sect has only changed its rules rather recently, so most of the masters here are of the old-school Qingcheng variety, being Taoist priests. Since it was mentioned that they were even stricter than the Wudang in their older days, I can't help but wonder if they wouldn't immediately notice our fucked up qi - I don't think that this would bode well for negotiations. Sure, they might not be specialists in harmonizing yin and yang the way the Wudang are, but they share the same philosophy, so they might have a similar understanding of yin and yang.

I am coming around to C:

“Why are you separated from Sister Miaozhu and the rest?” you ask. The question has been bothering you for a while – you see no sign of the other nuns, and you doubt they could catch you in an ambush nowadays.

“We were summoned back urgently by the Abbess. I am not privy to the knowledge; only Sister Miaozhu knows, but apparently it has something to do with Qingcheng. We got separated somewhere back when the bandits attacked. I don’t think they would look for me because we were needed to hurry back to Emei. In such a situation, they would have had to obey the orders and move on without me.”

They were obviously called back after Master Song's death, but I think that the Emei nuns know something about the situation that we don't. Something that is urgent and requires immediate action, otherwise they wouldn't have left Yifeng like that.

If they were just being informed of Master Song's death, then there would be no need to return to Emei so quickly, they could take their time - yeah, a the death of a Master from an allied sect is sad, but they wouldn't be in such a rush to return to Emei and end up leaving the most vulnerable member of their team behind. Whatever has occurred that's related to the Qingcheng situation, I think that the nuns know something we don't, and I think that they might be desperate enough to require our help without needing the sword in return (for now).

Voting A for now

Probably about your age. She's one of your peers.

As for noticing qi, the only person you know of that can do that just by sight is Cao'er. For anyone else, they'd have to actively prod your qi into awakening with their own, which means unless you willingly activate it for them, they'll need physical contact for prolonged amounts of time (unless they have huge inner strength reserves like Zhang), or perhaps get hit by an attack of yours that can transmit qi into them. Even then they'd have to spend time to comprehend it.

When you use your inner strength, your movements will appear erratic and unorthodox but no one is going to jump to the conclusion that OMG chaos! Why would they? Your condition is unique. It's unheard of. No one knows what it actually does, let alone what it should look like. The simpler answer to them would be that your style is purposely built to be erratic and unpredictable as part of your combat strategy.

Until you start throwing Chaos Dragon Palms all over the place, your secret neigong won't be that hard to keep under wraps as long as you are moderately cautious.

So nothing noticeable unless you have 10 in perception. Check.

[EDIT]Yao'er is of the Dog sign? Explains the puppy-dog love towards Jing.

Just 10 PER won't do it, you need the Immortal Eyes trait. It is possible for, say, the Goat Adjutant to train his PER up to 10 and he still won't get the trait.

Yes, the Adjutant's special trait is the qi he was born with. Each of the other archetypes had their own unique ability too.

Interesting. Looking forward to finding out what the other traits are. I suspect we've already met the scholar, and possibly also the rogue, but so far no farmer?

[EDIT]Scratch the rogue. The rogue's supposedly an orphan, so that rules out Qiling.

Haha, we just had the most interesting one. "Energy of Chaos Undivided" is pretty damn cool.
As for the choice, B/C interests me, especially after we whetted her appetite for working with Jing. This may well start us on the road to making her a friend (for a supposedly gruff rogue, Jing sure has heroic habits like saving innocent nuns from rape; our street cred will go down the toilet if word gets out). Friends are good, and our 7 CHA and 5 speech should give us a leg up in the actual negotiations with the Emei. Will wait to hear more arguments.

Before I vote, I'll need to know this: bros, are we still going for the sneaky-secrecy approach for the tournament, which excludes D and C, or do we not care if the Eight Students see us coming from a mile away, all our cards on the table, and are focusing on rescuing Yao and Cao'er above everything else?

I'm for whatever will either increase the harem size or make us stronger, everything else is pretty much irrelevant to me. B and D are the only options to me.

Secrecy doesn't sound like something Master Zhang (hmpf, Zhang the Concordiat Officer? :troll:) would favor.

I would rather save Yao and Cao'er. We do not need to win the tournament, we can go there and fight without using techniques or observe from the sidelines. But we can't leave our sis and master to their deaths.

Instead of scrutinizing the heir it would be indeed prudent to concentrate on Song Jiangke instead. Consider this, the scool have recently experienced a shift in politics, which made it possible for many people to get in, people that would not be allowed anywhere near the school otherwise. I can't shake off the feeling of similarity with Songfeng case if it was not simply a plot by Rong Jr., but a takeover attempt - the exact same thing would happen there. It is possible to assume that the heir knows nothing, and that Song Sr. is in fact Rong Jr. here. He is the one that Yao deemed not worth saving, after all.

Of course, this is just pure speculation for the moment. Will elaborate later.

Untrue, Zhang gave us free reign on the whole mission, he doesn't care what we do at the tournament or the fact that we we developed as a sneak under his tutelage. All he cares about is us getting shit done.

The reason I don't like D is it will inform everyone at the tournament of who we are and our capabilities through word-of-mouth of the school's participants ("Gasp, that's Zhang's student, he defeated the head of our school.") and make bluffing impossible, so their attention will be glued to us. This will make taking down the Eight Students much more difficult.

That's one reason I don't like D - it gives away too much before we even had a chance to study our opposition at the tournament. The other is that is just seems reckless - we don't know who killed the old master - Yao or Cao'er or the daughter or maybe some unknown enemy in the school, we don't know anything. And yet we would just charge right in and intimidate them to a duel (possibly with the daughter herself). Come on, lets at least try to learn what is going on before we commit ourself like that.

I don't hate any of the options, but none jump out as the best either. I mistrust C, but that could just be paranoia.
B has us anonymously negotiating for their release. Without more information I don't see this working. They might not even let us talk to You and Cao'er as some random interested party. Why would they let some random mook meddle with their leader's killer? I'm not sure Yifang has enough pull to get us the access we need.
D is ballsy but I don't like going in blind. Plus, we just saw with the bandits, that we don't yet have a grasp on using our skills on non-maniac opponents. We want to beat the the 8 peers, not maim or kill them. This would probably be my second choice.
A has us going in blind too, but it's the one that fits our skills best, in my opinion. Mad Wolf Stepping has us at 5 sneak and 9 agility. It will likely be difficult, but maybe we'll learn from it. I say we give it a shot.
