Just because a game has been pushed to 'release' state doesn't mean it's actually finished. Or any bug fixes or balancing or content updates of note actually occurred in the intervening years. Will check it out when it's in the $1 tier of some bundle. The game was dated by 2012 standards.

Man. Years ago I suggested they make it look more like Daggerfall, because these shaders are a weird choice. Everything is super shiny!
I think if they scaled down the graphics to a more oldschool look, it'd be way way less jarring and more fitting for the actual gameplay. But it looks the same..
Sad.

This is something that I keep on wondering about. Why are most devs so hell-bent on going for latest techniques if they simply do not have the budget to back it up. And then they pump these ugly AF bloom effects all the way up.
Have you come seeking the light?!

Not even speaking of how much of a novelty a game with Heretic/Hexen/Daggerfall looks would be nowadays...
