Yo. I finally managed to acquire Morrowind GOTY. In German, sadly, but oh well. I heard there's some fine, fine mods that add landmasses to the east of Morrowind with some fine art design that's worthy of the original game.

I'd like to find out of what I heard is true!

So what I am looking for is: a mod that adds nice landscapes, mountains, caves to explore, or even a whole new island. All that matters is that it is visually appealing. No typos, no retarded added super-weapons or sex-me-up NPCs a plus.

This is exactly what I am looking for. For me, Morrowind is all about walking around nice places and drooling at the landscapes that don't exist in this form in real life while admiring the nice skybox. Thanks!

Edit: Thank you very much. These seem excellent, visually, which is all that counts. I just want to walk around and see landscapes.

Well, what did you want, Jas? Gamespot journalists have children to feed, so don't be surprised if (or should I rather say, when) they sell your e-mail address and your mailbox is flooded with penis enlargement offerings.

Get yourself "Better Bodies", "Better Heads" and "Better Textures" for making the game even more beautiful. There's multiple of the texture mods even, and you can pick one that looks most beautiful to you. Better Bodies and Better Heads are obligatory for making the characters look more like real people and less ugly.

Too bad the Tamriel thing doesn't work with the German version... I could try finding someone who'll send me the English .esm files I guess, for Morrowind, Bloodmoon and Tribunal.

Or I could make them myself, but to do that, I would have to run an English patch over my German version, and sadly, this is already the final version so I won't find a patch. Bummer!

Edit: It's because the German .esm files internally use German cell names, and this makes the game crash when using that mod.

Can't use torrents; university monitors this strictly. I could try Rapidshare. 18 100 MB chunks with a 2 hour wait between each ahoy! Alas; there'll be a way though, don't worry. Maybe I can hex-edit translate all the German cell names to English.

There seems to by Polish translation in progress (not that it's any consolation for you).

What?

Morrowind isn't that big. It's 1 CD, 2CD's most... though the second CD is just for the Constructor set. The expansions which you don't really need are like 450 and 250 MB's respectively.

Also, knowing your proclivities you'll want to get these:

Must-have mods: Ultimate Textures v3, Jarrods Bloodmoon Textures, Better Heads, Better Bodies, Book Jackets, Weapon Sheaths Ultimate, Real Signposts. They are all cosmetic changes but they make the game look better.

I also have some tweaks installed... All Silt Striders and All Boat Ports mean I can travel from Seyda Neen to Khuul or Sadrith Mora without having to change along the way.I also have the Bitter Coast sounds plugin, Daggerfall books, a No-Glow enchantment mod, and of course No Cliff Racers, essential if you like exploring without having something attacking you every 2 seconds.

Why do you have to act like some retarded internet tough guy, sheek? There's really no need to; we can all get along.

If your into exploring, be sure to get a real time ship mod. I recommend the Stormriderone.

It let's you manually sail around the continent, and to various islands (like Solstheim). You can keep stuff in the boats cabin, use mark and recall from it, keep companions on it, etc. If your in a hurry you can tell the boat to fast travel to various ports and designated locations around the coast. If you find MW's coasts and wrecks pretty, it's a great way to tour them.

Did you ever play through Tribunal or Bloodmoon? If not, they are definitely better than the original MQ, but they do lack in the hiking potential. Well, at least Tribunal does.

Visually, I always preferred the Darker Morrowind mod that replaces textures, changes weather and ultimately makes the game much more appealing to my tastes. That, and TLM (The Lighting Mod) made the lighting much more atmospheric. If you prefer traveling through towns and such, try some of the mods that add lights to the windows during night hours, as well as the mods that make interior windows light up from the sun during daytime.

Tribunal, yes. Bloodmoon, no. Bloodmoon was quite boring and uninspired aside from the Nordic towns.

I played Tribunal and Bloodmoon and liked them both.

That said, those atmospheric mods are nice.

Are they compatible? Could you care to link me? I hate Fileplanet and most Google searches just link me to that.

I'd be interested in using TLM and Darker Morrowind [ though there seem to be tons of retexture mods, but I think Dark + lightning go well. I already enabled dynamic lighting in the .ini]

Also, using the TLM and Darker Morrowind, won't it end up being way too dark? Will the art design suffer from the darker textures?

Edit: found them; also, this, for those who want to use a texture replacement:

And also for giving wood elves very tiny penises, that Fargoth's legacy be that more humiliating when they find him dead in the pool by the stump.

Make sure to use Slof's beast packs; they look really hot. Yes, the "I want to have sex with an alien" girl.
