since even Archer rangers will use their melee powers a lot.

Uuuuuuuh.... of course they do! Because of... stuff! I don't... why would I?
If I end up using my underdeveloped melee on enemies as a Hunter specialised on ranged combat, I am playing it wrong, no? To be fair, I didn't really read the feats synergy, so maybe I missed something. But so far anything in the well dies pretty quick, so I didn't see the need to add some low dmg melee finishers.

By hybrid I'm talking about the talent tree which goes in that direction - Trapper, if I'm not mistaken. It seems to have passives which lower the cooldowns on abilities in the unoccupied stance and shit like that.

Trapper isn't just a hybrid tree really. Trapper has a special quality for switching stances, but the real purpose in this is that you'd do it anyway in order to maximize your number of Root applications going about. Trapper's big thing is buffing those. So in effect Trapper enhances the approach one would naturally take if one were to apply Roots as often as possible.

In terms of how its DPS would differ from, say, Archer, the first thing to note is that Archer's speciality in DPS is built around attacking one target at a time, marking them with Prey from their capstone. Besides that, they rely on better Ranged damage and crit ratios to increase their DPS. The gist of Melee is that it's the most durable Ranger build with Wilds Medicine, in exchange to not having DPS as high as Archer can have.

Someone at Cryptic needs to be smacked on the head.

I myself prefer Path of the Blade to Blitz because it runs on auto-pilot so I have more time to just do my own thing.
One thing to note here, Blitz gives a lot of AP (like 5,5-6%? Increased by your AP gain bonus) just by using it, even without hitting any mobs. Another power that gives AP without hitting anything is Wicked Reminder.
Dazing strike also gives a ton, but only when actually dealing damage.

There is nothing really worth getting anyway.
To get enough currency for speshul boxes (with a gamble chance to get the battlefield medic) you have to craft like a maniac, but every profession slot used for this means less precious potatos for you.
The rewards for the daily coins, if you even call them so because it still requires participating in 2 HE each day, are also not really great for the invested effort. A few fashion items, dyes and a green archer companion who is just a reskinned ice archer you probably already have from buying cyberyshekelz. The 1 hour effect runes (or what they are called) can also be aquired from lolmouth if you really want those.
I think there is not even a weapon skin available, which would be at least useful to cover up the hideous skin artifact weapons tend to have.

Naaah, I'll pass this time.

My time is better invested into getting the most out of STO's bonus xp weekend.

I don't remember if it was this way last time, but you can sell those reward boxes you get for medals.

Another thing, the Lesser Bonding Runestones are super cheap right now, they give 260 power in offense slot which is the same as a rank 9 empowered.

I think I got one for free with my Ioun Bee, those are really nice.
But... define "super cheap" please.

Edit: less than 30k. That's only about one leadership cycle. Yep, super cheap. Gonna buy a few. Thanks for the heads up!
First page of them, all by the same seller... do I smell an exploit here?

And one more thing, I just noticed that all the VT weapon materials are cheap as fuck for some reason. There's no way I'm getting an artifact weapon for each of my characters, so this looks like a great chance to get the second-best weapons.

Personally I decided that I won't start with another Artifact weapon until I've maxed out the ones on the wizard.

I once bought a bunch of dragon metal, because I misread you needing those to choose an artifact. Nope, they want stuff that comes from salvaging said artifacts. But they were already dirt cheap back then, I guess the drop rate in shores/lol is pretty high (I got a gem once as well).
Sadly, artifact weapons need some love before they are even on par with even the DR weapon. Expensive love. And leveling ONE artifact with the help of all your toons is already a fulltime job.

You could always check to see if any of your acquired valuables are worth anything to an interested friend, if they aren't of interest to you. You can't take it with you when they ban you for no good reason, after all.

I wonder if player strongholds end up following the model tested in Champions, or the one from STO.

At least in case of STO it shouldn't pose much of a problem for our altaholic guild. And if it is like the STO stuff, and provides the same benefits, at least we will be able to keep high-end gear easily.

EDIT: The level cap increase is much more of a wild card I'd say.

I wonder if they will be individual player strongholds, or guild-based. Because if it's some kind of giant-STO-esque starbase, you guys are screwed and will never see the shinies, being that you lack...well, me, to build the damn thing for you. I remember how the STO base went until I took over construction...and it's not like you had the initiative to figure out how to GET SHINY THINGS in alternate ways. I worked THAT one out, too.

So, yeah, good luck. You guys have no tolerance for GRUELLING FARM GRINDS.

What you up to, Vaarna?

Well, things work a little different here, most of us are loaded most of the time because getting cash is considerably easier and faster over here.

As for what I'm doing, doffing and doing daily professions.

Paladin is next? Meh. His role's sort of already covered thematically by the cleric and shield guardian.

Bard, please.

No, you see, the paladin might actually be used for healing. The cleric's role now is blowing shit up.

I think what you mean is that "it's easier to get bigger numbers". Of course, everything will thus COST bigger numbers as well, no doubt. The farming will probably be gruelling.

Norfleet is sounding more and more like Cleve by the day. I'm loving it. :salute:
How so?

I for one approve of that!
As for the paladin: I expect him to be a leader typ, with auras to buff/heal those around him. Techically he should be a worse fighter than the GF (ahahahaha) and a worse healer than the Cleric, so... it's going to be fun. I doubt those auras would stack, or it would be more awsome than our 5 GF dungeon run. :?

I wonder what benifits a guild stronghold will bring. All that artifact equipment kinda took away the need for guild gear. Guild ponies maybe? Farm guild marks, then buy a "guild sack of hay" from the c-store and get... uuuh... moah speed? I hope it will be more than just bragging rights!
Payment will also be interesting if we compare it to STO. Are we going to feed it with footmen, injury kits, altars and even more gems/chants aside from potatos (noooooo, not my precious potatos) and some form of guildmarks?
If we get a cloak with a brofist on it, I might even consider wearing one.

Edit: Level cap increase... dayum, should have kept the peepees instead of putting them into useless crap. Praised be the potatogod for all those respec tokens from the winter festival!
