Given how these seem to happen over time and then go away after a patch, it seems they SOMEHOW manage to get their server wiring clogged!

They fucked the account server daemon again. Apparently, writing an autorestart script is too hard for their overpaid buffoons.

Great, this throws my schedule off ... especially annoying in STO because Lobi deadlines.

We made an interesting discovery yesterday.
A few days ago when i did a solo run through Idris to get the quest out of the way, the dungeon chest let me choose a tier 1 armor.
So yesterday we decided to investigate it FOR SCIENCE!
Urist McFappy did Idris, my Cleric did Cock Tower and after that ekl and me did Idris again.
The result: my Cleric now has two pieces of tier 1 armor, Ekl got only a blue piece and i don't know what Katz got. He did seem surprised though. :incline:
Delve time is not a factor, i got one piece during and one after it.

Questshuns:
a) I had a quest open both times, if Katz, who didn't have it, got the armor as well, this questshun is already answered.
b) IIRC the dungeons scale if you go in with a full group instead of just 1-4 people. It would be very craptic if they didn't test it for less than a full group. Who runs a low level dungeon solo anyway?

Suggestshuns:
We could take a full group and enter Dread Vault through the front door. If nobody gets a purple item, we rerun the dungeon with only 4 people to see if it changes.

Considering that an OP char like Katz's GWF can do Idris in 15 min, this would be a quick way to gear toons up during delve.

Not an OP char (Unstoppable being crazy awesome aside), just the result of what a car salesman would describe as being previously used by a little old lady for driving to church.

Well Katz deals at least 4 times the damage my GWF does, so he is OP to me and i want to be a dragon like him! Well except having short legs and one arm being suspiciouly stronger than the other. It took my GWF a lot longer to finish Idris and my Cleric nearly died several times being gnawed on, because rouge trickster lack a good AOE. So a pre-owned yet well cared for char is needed for easy farming.

You'll get the hang of it, and once you start getting better gear you'll close the gap in. Once your potatoflow gets going you need to start looking into one of the Weapon Enchantments, which for GWF would be either Vorpal (Vorpal is straightforward, just higher Crit Severity; Vorpal is generally the default enchantment due to its uniform usefulness, as Crit Severity also affects Criticals on heals), Lightning (high +% weapon damage and an AoE proc, good for GWFs) or Terror (+% weapon damage, debuffs enemy Defense).

And of course, having an Ancient and up tier weapon goes a long way too.

Here's GWF build samples for Drakron, using Swordmaster:

Destroyer: http://nwcalc.com/gwf?b=p9v:27licz:1bgcog,13cku2i:1u0000:1zu051:1u0000&h=0&p=smr

Sentinel: http://nwcalc.com/gwf?b=p9v:27licz:1bgcog,13cku2i:100000:1uu000:1z0551&h=0&p=smr

Use Wicked Strike or Weaponmaster's Strike (they're largely interchangeable), and general skill loadout for both builds is: At-wills: Sure Strike + WS/WMS / Indomitable Battle Strike + Flourish/Takedown + Restoring Strike / Crescendo + Slam/Avalanche of Steel. Destroyer build will have slotted class features as Destroyer + Blitz/Steadfast Determination (depends on if you want a tad more tank or more deeps), Swordmaster will slot Weapon Master + Blitz/Steadfast Determination. In case of both, spam Unstoppable all the time.

Short upddate FOR SCIENCE:
Having the quest doesn't seem to be a factor, my cleric got a ring from Quagmire's Crypt without having the quest. Giggity!
Having less than full group MAY be be an issue however, since our full group run of Derp Vault was a dud, while our 4 man band was pretty successful running Iceworld and Spiderland.
We could try running 2 small groups at the same time, your overgeared char could probably solo most of them without breaking a sweat.:salute:

I've mostly been looking into the Slayer Knight stuff, those things could be useful for melee classes.

This event gave me good example why everyone complains about pugs. As a GWF you can just grind your teeth and kill the dragon with a few trips to and from the campfire. But if i had to suffer this clusterfuck with, let's say, a cleric... -> RAGEQUIT.:argh:
I have witnessed someone running around with the lizard, not something i want to have following me. I'll stick to my cat-aquisihun-plan, i have already saved enough potatos to afford one leg and a few whiskers. The harvest on my farms is still a little meager, but i am whipping them into shape!

Farmland advice:

The assignments you DO give a shit about are 1) Patrol Mines, 2) Acquire Siege Engine. Before Rank 20, you only do the highest LdXP assignment and Patrol Mines (once you unlock Patrol Mines at 12 IIRC). The reason for this is that Siege Engines and Mining Claims are what you use to get the best swag and potato output from your farmland. Mining claims can ALWAYS be turned in groups of three for 1.2k AD per assignment, and they have a special assignment where ONE mining claim nets 1.6k AD. The deal with Siege Engines is that 3 Siege Engines are used in a special project which nets you 1.6k AD and very importantly a purple swag chest. You'll have 4-6 slots running these two things once/twice a day by default, with the holy grail of Leadership always taking your top three slots, your triple treat of 1.6k AD and a blue swag chest per 12 hours FOR NOTHING.

Oh yea, and all of these assignments generate cold hard cash too, so you can afford all the potions you could ever want.

The first and foremost investment in your farmland should be getting your 7-9 Man-At-Arms dudesmen (green quality). These guys are dirt cheap (usually going for less than or around 10k AD), can do all tasks, and are enough to give you a 2 hour window for daily double tap of the triple treat. Otherwise the first task in your farmland will be to just endlessly farm Mercenaries -> Guards -> Footmen so you can have 7-9 Footmen. Man-At-Arms will be preferable once your first farmland is up and running properly, since the cashflow is enough to buy them easily.
