Very few modules that do this, unfortunately. Two that come to mind as maybe being comparable to Swordflight in difficulty level are Sapphire Star and the Blackguard series.

Won't help, with the sheer volume of drown attacks you're bound to fail one sooner or later. Get potions of Death Ward if you don't have access to it, I was lucky enough to have picked some up on a whim before I went into the fortress.

Oh damn, deathward works on that. I was thinking that drown was physical and deathward would not work on it. I have a few potions stacked up that I had not found a use for, I guess it will be for later x).

Definitely have a few of every potion in the bag plus extra for henchmen xD . Also those elemental resist necklaces are lifesavers, trust me. Man if this module had a drug/addiction system...

Having never finished any of the new premium modules, nor having finished HoTU (and wanting to play rogueknight333's stuff), I've finished SoU again to prep a character. Seeing as my character is only level 12, I've been wondering if any of the SoU-HotU bridging modules is worth checking out?

Haven't tried any of them and none of the modules I've played have a recommended start of around level 12, but what are you trying to prep for? If it's HotU, you'll automatically get bumped up to 15, so 3 levels isn't that big a deal to miss out on. As for Swordflight, it starts at level 1.

It's been a decade since I played this game and I remembered that HoTU was setup as sequel to SoU, so I decided to first replay SoU as a refresher. That's all I meant with 'prepping'. Anyway, HoTU recommends starting with a level 15 character so I expected my imported character's level to be bumped up to that level. However, by the time I'm about to head into the Undermountain I still haven't received any XP bump.

Then again, SoU was quite easy, so I'm probably just overthinking it. Thanks, Gargaune.

No worries. That's odd, anyway, I was sure HotU would bump you up on start, but then again I haven't played it in a long time. If you wanna up yourself manually to 15, you can just use the console - hit ~, DebugMode 1, dm_givelevel X where X is how many levels you wanna add, click on your character and DebugMode 0 when you're done.

IIRC, if you enter HoTU with a 1st level character, you will get an XP boost bringing you up to Level 15, but if your starting level is close enough to 15, it does not bother. In any case, HoTU is easy enough that starting with a Level 12 character should not be a problem.

Hmm, I am now getting a crash during loading trying to transition to Nobles estates (after the consuming fire compound). All the other city districts work fine. Tried to transition there from the sewer and it also crashed. I am a bit stumped on what to do. Playing on EE btw (Probably should have stuck to DE... rip)- trying to roll back to the earliest EE version that still loads my save did not work either.

There should be some crash logs in the documents folder, check there if there's any hints?

I started encountering some regular crashes with Swordflight on the DE from Chapter 2 or 3, I don't recall which exactly, but they were around loading savegames. It varied, sometimes I'd get in fine, others I'd have to restart the game three or four times before it'd let me in, have you tried that transition a bunch of times?

Yeah tried the transition a bunch of times. I had a couple crashes before that usually on area transitions too but simply loading a save and trying again would do it. This one is systematic. I am putting the crash log in spoiler, I can't make much sense of it. Tried a bunch of different things including loading the save on a laptop with different hardware and having all graphical options to low.

You've been to the Noble district before and it was fine, right? When you click the transition it should show you which area it's trying to load, is it the Noble Estates or another interim area? The crash log isn't likely to tell you much, your best best would be to check with rogueknight333 to determine whether there's any state change the game is trying to process in that area based on your progress.

Before that yes. It is the nobles estate trying to load, if I get an ambush it will load the ambush fine but if I try to transition to the nobles district afterwards it will crash as usual. It's the first time trying to load the noble's estate after doing the swamp caves>consuming fire compound before which the game is prompting that side quests should be tied up before moving on. So there is likely a state change there (its fits with the main quest too). An old save before that quest can load the nobles district without problem.

Yeah, sounds like a script's going haywire. If rogueknight can identify the event that's supposed to trigger, you might be able to edit your savegame around it.

There are a few things happening at that point in the game: Hamad is moved back to his estate, the version of Zarala that had been there is replaced by a more combat ready version, etc, but that is all happening inside the Galhadr estate. As best I can recall the only change to the "Noble Estates" area specifically is a very minor one: the door to the Zekar tower is closed (if it was open) and locked. Seems unlikely that would cause such a major issue, but I suppose it is possible.

You do not actually need to go to the Noble estates area itself at this point in the game, so another thing you could try is to use cheat codes to just jump directly to the Galhadr estate. Enter Debug Mode (if you are not familiar with this, this is done by hitting the tilda key ("~"), typing "DebugMode 1" and hitting enter - you can leave this later by entering "DebugMode 0") and enter the following command:

    dm_movetoarea galestate001

Though I suppose it is possible there is some problem there as well, but it might work, and would more or less solve the issue if it does. If you want to shop at Gadaran's store before entering the next phase of the game you could first use the command:

    dm_movetoarea gadarea001

    Thanks a ton.
I was able to load the Galhadr Estate fine using the commands. Noble estates still won't load so hopefully I can use the command to avoid it every time. I will report if I get more problems.

You may want to preserve the save game file with the issue. In the event you report the issue to Beamdog as a bug, it could be very helpful for them to have a save game file with the problem already present rather than trying to replicate it. I do not actually know if this is an EE problem or just a fluke caused by your particular system, but EE has introduced a steady stream of bugs, varying from one patch to another, so it very well might be.

Is Darkness over Daggerford a part of Scullverse too?
    I know they're different protagonists.

... Beckons From The Deep ...

    The Good
    - witcher OST
    - fast travel
    - salmorum square
    - rebecca's estate

    The Bad

    - everything else

A very recent lvl 1-10 module, was suckered in by "dark souls" and "Custom Scripts for Major Boss Fights" sales pitch. Rolled a conjurer sorc.

Starts off in the most boring possible starting outpost, leading to a city that should be a primer in how to not make a city in NWN. There's apparently been very little playtesting as you can trigger half a dozen quests out of order and get journal entries referencing things you have no clue about.

    RPG

Dialogue skills are irrelevant (eg. 80 xp) for succeeding a random roll DC 16 persuasion check.

I never found any use for the companion influence system.

Evil choices alternate between Die! and Time to die!

Main plot is at least interesting to a point.

    Combat

Woefully underwhelming. My henchman could solo this module without player input. Player turns into a god around lvl 4-5 and all challenge is gone from there onwards. You can buy feats for pennies and enchant melee weapons (eg. my henchman could've been dealing 1d12+3 +1d6 +1d6 +1d6 +1d4 + str bonus + sneak attack + flame weapon at level 5 or so). Meanwhile bow users get completely shafted until ~lvl 7 when you can buy comp longbow +2.

No empty scrolls / wands for crafting, not that you need any due to fights being too easy as your hench probably won't get hit by anything other than a 20.

Everyone drops their enchanted magical armor on death, which leads to ~infinite gold and you can buy whatever you want making yourself immune to poison/paralyze/death magic/web etc.

I did see one boss with custom scripting but it got one shot by my henchman so it doesn't count.

    Cooking System

I'm not sure if this was some silent satirical commentary on powergaming, nonetheless it made me laugh (out of pain). Truly the worst inventory management in any module I've ever played.

Every house has 3-6 barrels of fish, every barrel contains 6 fish (these are unstackable 2by2 items). Every cooked fish gives 10-30xp depending on cooking ingredients.

~30% of all the XP in this module comes from cooking fish by repeating the same dialogue on a campfire. There's even a fish factory that gives out ~2000 XP (200*2x2 inventory items + 200 dialogue repeats) in fish cooking to a character with 30k XP total.

    Show Spoiler

I quit the module shortly after this pic due to even more fish spam and running into a merchant offering infinite lvl 4-6 spells in scrolls/wands/rods in a module that was already braindead easy. Would've quit way sooner without rod of travel and the witcher OST.

Sort of, there's an encounter in Tyrants of the Moonsea that'll offer you a flavour option of stating you were involved in recent events around Tethyr (i.e. Crimson Tides of Tethyr, the prior episode in the series) or Daggerford (i.e. Darkness over Daggerford), but it's just a nod.
