Fabulously optimistic expectations:
- SH1-4 get proper re-releases on modern platforms;
- SH5 by reformed Team Silent gets announced.

What we're going to get instead:
- SH2 remake developed by Bloober team, with over the shoulder camera, and Troy Baker as a voice actor;
- A walking simulator with "Life is strange"-tier story about suicide, fatshaming, cancel culture and racism.

Team Silent shared few team members between entries and probably anyone left got ousted in the Great Pachinko Purge. Even the members who stayed often shuffled roles between games. There's no team to "reform."

proper re-releases
They lost the source code of those games. It will be probably everything but 'proper'.

How can people have faith in current Konami?
They could so to say bruteforce it with the current console hardware, and have something that is a p accurate replace of the original unlike the x360/PS3 version with its missing effects and mangled lighting among other things where it would have required much more effort to have something that looks basically like the original only running in higher resolution.
So I'd say it's not out of question even with how little Konami cares or is ready to invest in such things.

- No fucking remake
- No rehashing of hospital/appartment complex setting
- No "improved combat"
- No Western libtards on the dev team
- No DLC or pre-order extra suits/weapons

Might as well ask for world peace while I'm at it.

Worst thing that will happen is another mediocre game, but good to see them using the license.

this or like Resident Evil 3 (2020/2022) where they released most of the game and "forgot" the rest...

Make the Codex Great Again! RPG Wokedex Strap Yourselves In Codex Year of the Donut Codex+ Now Streaming! Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is. Serpent in the Staglands Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 BattleTech Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Kingmaker Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
I don't really know how to deal with this announcment, but feel like I should say something because Bloober Team are such worthless hacks. Even when I played their "original" titles I felt like they were the ones who always missed the point. I wish a real studio would hire their artists, and the rest of them would go back to work at JC Penney's. My hopes weren't high that we would get a good Silent Hill ever again, but this still hurts. A huge step backwards.

Video games after 2000 were a mistake. They're nothing but trash.

I love this. It's where I can see the beginning of the decline too. Of course it's not completely true, we do get the very rare gem (in the survival horror genre we got Darkwood :obviously:), but I also love it because it disqualifies all Silent Hill after SH1, the only relatively good one :smug:

Seems there will be a Remake of Silent Hill 2, a trailer to Return to Silent Hill movie and a new game titled Silent Hill: Ascension. PlayStation and Steam appear in the tags so we can say that at least those will be the platforms for the projects.

Anyone here played Shattered Memories? That's the sort of Silent Hill I can expect from Bloober team, both in terms of writing style and of gameplay. Unless something has changed internally on their side...
Now Shattered Memories had alrightish reception back in the day but things have changed since then, it would probably be better received today. And Bloober Team's own medium seems to be a critical darling.

judging by how they tackled certain themes in The Medium, I suspect Bloober are incapable of making even something like Shattered Memories.
