Nah, fallout would suck ass with this engine and combat model. I'm thinking about the real cool classic stuff like exploring snowy mountains and dark forests. Though real ambitious modders could really knock us out with whatever they come up with. Blazing dessers with floating city's or a depiction of Dante's hell springs to my mind.

I actually expect someone in the mod community to do just what you said. Could be really cool.

The first time I saw the overland map, I thought wow.... someone could actually re-make the classic Ultima's (1-5), in that they use the exact same overland map system.

But I'm quite sure I played other games with a very similar beginning, too. I just can't remember them o.O

The only other one I can remember is Tales of the Sword Coast, and I doubt that anyone would willingly plagiarize that stinker.

You mean that add-on to Baldur's Gate that included one of the best dungeons ever designed? Why would any willingly plagiarize that? I don't have any idea.

Shipwrecked on a hostile shore?

Wtf? Seriously, I thought they were capable of something that doesn't sound like one has already heard that like a billion times before. I hope they have a good excuse for that. Or a good game to make up for it ;)

Ok, now I don't want to sound like I am attacking you or anything but...billions? Srsly?

If so, I want to know so I can play these games I have been missing!

Also, I am not exactly thrilled with the trailer either, especially when compared to the Witcher EE trailer, but I'll take what I can get for an expansion.

Wrong. The combat in NWN2 is aweosme. Go away, troll.

Oh noes, you didn't! I'm reporting you to your Obsidian bosses!

Oh Volly, you rascally rapscallion!

You left out the part where I said "especially when compared to the Witcher EE trailer" and also where I mentioned that I'll take what I can get for an expansion.

Besides, the day my bosses don't want me to be honest, they just have to tell me.

By gods, Mr Davis, you missed the hyperbole, AND failed to recognize that Volourn was joking. Perhaps you are tired and need a cup of coffee, because this is the first time I have seen a native English speaker miss the subtleties of the language like this. And that too in front of the Codex, which is full of non-native English speakers who could have recognized this.

SoZ sounds awesome on paper, however there's a big ''if"'involved. It's obvious that combat won't be a minor annoyance like it was in MotB but a fundamental part of gameplay. I just hope Obsidian manages to design interesting and challenging enemies and encounters. Now, NWN 2's combat is broken beyond salvation and won't ever reach the quality of BG 2 or IWD (yes I kinda liked combat in both of these games) but Obsidian has to do some major improvements concerning combat in order to make SoZ fun.
