It's just way too cartoony, man. I'm expecting Bugs Bunny to pop up out of a rabbit hole and go "Whats up doc?" any minute. Maybe he's hiding in those bushes, and the guy on the cargo crate is Elmer Fudd?
Romanceable rabbits are sure to be included (the non radiated variety).
No, seriously you're kidding, right?
It certainly looks pretty good though I think the vegetation needs to be much wilder and more rampant for it to look more post-apocalyptic. I think it looks a little too...'tamed' for my liking.
In b4 looks like shit. DAMN IT NEVER WORKS.
Actually I am disappointed they didn't stick to their guns and use real color. You know green trees and stuff like that. The orangey shot was a little off but it looks like this is going to be another one where they use terrible filtering, the lazy way that hides flaws, instead of working to make a good palette. And yet people still complain it looks cartoony! But maybe that's due to some of the postprocessing making things look more plasticy/shiny/whatever than they could. To me it just looks too drab and generic, but it isn't bad at all just not breathtakingly good.
I think you might be trolling.
Well, then you are an incredible dumbfuck. A guy who's here to soft sell his game as he comments on rpg news and using his real name as his handle would never troll in a million years, you clown.
Wow, you really are so full of lameness you can't even imagine why someone could not be lame. Try to step into other people's shoes just a little bit instead of taking the majority opinion and assuming anyone who doesn't conform to it is a terrorist.

Maybe it is tamed. A civilized region of the game world?

$3mil is low budget because big budget means in the order of $100s of millions. If you are thinking of low budget as in the $10s or $100s of thousands, you're wrong. $10s of thousands qualifies for no budget/shoestring budget/doing it on your own dime in your spare time and needing to top off your other income sources. $100s of thousands barely start to resemble a budget. (I'm talking about game development here, and, in particular, development of games with high enough production values that they have any chance of becoming successful, not for other types of projects). For example, Johnatan Blow, the guy behind Braid, put in $200k of his own money to create Braid ( http://web.archive.org/web/20081226...ublic/article_print/SB121814539048522033.html and http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/90505-Braid-Cost-200-000-To-Make via http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Braid_(video_game)#Development ). If you would carefully add up all the expenses, you would end up with a total price tag in the $100s of thousands for most, if not all, successful indie titles. And these are truly indie titles. When you have a development studio that has employees that need their money now and don't work on the promise of financial rewards further down the line when (and more importantly, IF) the game becomes successful, then even $100s of thousands may become insufficient and a few millions become the absolute minimum.Infinitron: I know of its budget..was under the impression that it having been reached and exceeded in KS (along with whatever other funds i may not know about from BF's side) would have been more than enough..gah, so much money and still considered low budget.. :s

looks like generic shit. its not bad. its not good. its just generic shit. Not even saying that generic shit is bad in general. But it is, without a doubt, generic fucking shit
doesnt matter anyways because the chanc eof the end game looking like that is virtually nil. Most likely its all placeholder shit while they work on the engine (and possibly mechanics)

Pretty detailed for a placeholder.
I have a gut feeling it will be more than just graphics...I predict massive butthurt when this game is released and people realize what it means to prioritize gameplay over graphics in a low budget title.
It wouldn't be the first time the Codex regrets getting what it wished for. See: Age of Decadence.
